Ed straightened his shoulders. Fuck it. If anyone here has a problem with the way I look, they can kiss my –
“Argh!”. He jumped almost a foot in the air at the sensation of a hand slipping into his. “What the fuuuuu …”. He looked down, realized that the hand belonged to a little boy, and hurriedly substituted “fiddlesticks.”
The boy had a mop of curly golden hair, wide hazel eyes, and a beaming smile. He tilted his head back to take Ed in properly from his low vantage point and chirped “Hello, Kraken!”.

This was written for Day 1 of Step Dad Ed Week ("First Meeting").
I was inspired by a post I saw recently on the Cursed Bird App That Shall Remain Nameless. I won't post a link, but basically, it was from a guy who found himself befriended by a little boy because, to the boy's mind, the guy's leather jacket made him "friend shaped". The instant I read it, I said "That's Ed and Louis." Hope you enjoy!

Summary
Alma grabs the TV remote and starts pressing buttons. The TV goes black for a split second before it goes bright pink. It takes a moment for Ed’s eyes to adjust, but once it does, Ed can feel his stomach sink down to his toes.
On the screen looks like the cover of a generic PowerPoint presentation. There are cliparts of hearts, kissy-faces, and blinged-out rings plastered everywhere. Smack in the middle are bolded white text that reads:
TOP 10 REASONS YOU SHOULD PROPOSE TO OUR DAD (STEDE BONNET): BY ALMA AND LOUIS BONNET
. . .
Ed can't imagine his life being any more perfect. He has a beautiful home, a wonderful partner, and two brand-new kids to boot. The last thing on his bucket list is to propose to his long-term boyfriend, Stede Bonnet.
The problem? Proposals are hard to plan. Much harder than Ed anticipated. And it seems like the most unexpected people are starting to feel impatient...
