Summary

Summary
So basically Mike (Scratch) wasn't super cryptic with his research before his passing, and now Grant (Kinger) and C&A are working towards trying to get Caine to calm down so they can get his help fixing the Abstractions because they want to talk to Scratch. To do this. they combine Abigail (Pomni)'s memories with an ai that they put into the circus. Pomni's objectives are to 1. calm down Caine and 2. prevent further abstractions. This causes her to become attached to Jax when she realizes he's the reason for the last 2 abstractions and is at risk of abstracting himself.
Pomni has to come to terms with the fact that she's an npc, that stuck there as just a brain scan, and that she's failed her objectives as an ai.

After Caine returns and normalcy moves into the Amazing Digital Circus for the first time, the humans (and Artificial Intelligences) grapple with their feelings about those they lost. The friends and frenemies who couldn't cope with the strain of this digital world and fell into themselves, and the memories (and giant lovecraftian horrors) they left behind.
But as time passes and tender gestures are exchanged, what was thought to be only one-sided consolation for those who grieve slowly seeps into the inky abyss of the final abstraction. Somewhere in there, a little chicken fetus might one day be ready to break out of her shell.

Its been a year or so since the events of the Finale, and Caine is getting along with the humans in the Circus just fine. They're maybe even on the verge of curing the abstractions. But there's something he can't stop thinking about - the Macroverse. The Wiffi. He needs to get back on the wiffi and find out more about the "real world".
Contains a lot of flashback scenes about what happened in the 90s when Caine was being created.
