    Things get more complicated when another undoubtedly human ship shows up at the edge of the 40 Eridani system.     In the first, the school goes to the tower and learns about Peter the scientist, who works in the SI labs and has found a safe place to be himself without having to diminish himself.

    In the second, we see Peter at school, mainly through the eyes of his classmates and teachers. Peter is constantly managing himself to be accepted.

    In the third, we see his life at home, with him being cherished and loved even when something causes him immense difficulties.

    In the fourth, we have a more general, self-accessible view; if I say more than that, I think I'll give away spoilers ;)

Now, Ava's dumped him into the custody of a new scientist, separate from the COI, a complete unknown. He's learned better by now than to hope.

    Dr. Ryland Grace is pulled from his peaceful life on Erid to retrieve a specimen from the COI, an organism mutated by prolonged exposure to the blood ocean of AT-5

    So, anyway, Simon somehow finds himself floating in space after screaming at a giant eye in an endless red void.

    Grace and Rocky are on the way to Erid when they come across an iron submarine with a dead eel monster hanging off the end.

    Simon gets to heal, Grace gets to interact with another human again, and Rocky gets to watch the incredibly awkward courtship rituals of these two disasters (affectionate).
