This story makes Valentine’s Day feel much more realistic than the over-the-top adult rom-com disaster the show sometimes leaned into, cramming far too much into a half hour. I’ve taken a more grounded approach that doesn’t veer into rom-com territory, but instead stays true to the characters and feels more fitting for them.
