Summary
After the events of Halo 3, Master Chief and Cortana were left behind after the rupture and splitting of the Forward Unto Dawn that left them floating aimlessly in the deep vast space, before the eventual coming of a blackhole that soon sucked the ship into a completely different reality to which they are both unfamiliar with. Now their mission was to contact Earth and get home. Though as they do this, they also help the local population, make some new alliances, maybe some new friends.
this was an inspired work by another author who did a crossover with Helldivers 2, which I really enjoyed reading through, so I just thought "What if Master Chief and Cortana found themselves in New Eridu?"
This is just a fic for my enjoyment as a Halo fan and ZZZ fan... so if I get anything wrong, PLEASE TELL ME, THAT WOULD BE MUCH APPREICATED

After the events of Halo 3, Master Chief and Cortana were left behind after the rupture and splitting of the Forward Unto Dawn that left them floating aimlessly in the deep vast space, they drifted on. Eventually they were soon caught in a rip of time and space, slipping them through a crack to suddenly find themselves in a new place, that similar to Earth. Though it screams in pain as a plague washes over its surface. Their mission, contact Earth, save the people here and get home. As they traverse across strange lands, they help protect the population, fight against new enemies, for new alliances and make a few new friends along the way.
This work is HEAVILY inspired by user Skiy1k who made a Helldivers fic(that you should definitely go read, its peak) and wanted to add my own spin to it with Halo!
NOTE: This is a rewriting of the original fic that I deemed it to be rushed and filled with plot holes that bothered me so much, I decided to just rewrite it entirely.

This is extremely self-indulgent, but I thought I'd post it incase anyone else enjoys my story and wants to come along on the journey. I'm hoping this'll be a long one.The story will cover my original character, Estelle, a Deer Thiren and a scientist/ ether researcher. An upsetting event from her past has driven her to work towards finding a solution to corruption, and that path sends her in Lighter's direction... Or maybe Lighter's path sends him into hers?
There will be some liberty taken on what happened to his crew since hoyo never fully took us into detail around that, and this will be an OC/Canon pairing so if that's not your thing this probably isn't the fic for you!I'm not a scientist nor french so be kind to me (Which Estelle is based on that culture very loosely, more-so her parents, from a small village destroyed by a hollow! So she's lived in Eridu and now New Eridu since a young age.)
