Really, there was no reason to be hunched over the reams upon reams of sheet music they’d ended up with, pen in hand and eyes a little in pain from how long he’d been staring at roughly drawn notes and uneven handwriting. Changing a lyric here or there wasn’t going to make that much of a difference now. But then again, this was what he was good at.

Summary
For four people with a very limited amount of space — almost all of which was shared — it wasn’t often any of the lead singers actually got some privacy. It should have made life more awkward and difficult than it did, but realistically they’d been touring in this thing for a good portion their entire adult life; they weren’t all that used to anything else. The van wasn’t the problem.
Being the only girl in the van, on the other hand, did make things more awkward and difficult. Kharm liked to pretend otherwise because — well, how would they even resolve that? Put her in a different bus? What was she, an instrument person? No — the four of them were meant to be on equal footing. Things were meant to be chill. And she was, all things considered, deeply chill about the fact she was the only girl and very happy to maintain that record.

He’d known David for almost seven years now, he knew how he got, running towards the nearest storm, skydiving off the nearest cliff, anything that was remotely dangerous. That didn’t change Charlie’s gut reaction, terror slicing through him, his heart beating as he waited for any confirmation that David was still breathing, that he was okay.
