“I know that. I know love is uncomfortable and messy and clumsy. I know love takes work. I guess that’s why I always thought I could make it work with Shannon. I couldn’t do the talking but I could provide for her and Chris. If I gave them enough of me, it would be love, the way it was supposed to be."
“But,” Frank stresses, lips twisting under his impressive beard, “were you honest with her? Vulnerable with her? Did you communicate your needs, fears, and desires to her?”
