At the advice of Doctor Heightmeyer, Elizabeth Weir institutes a protocol requiring all members of the expedition to do weekly video debriefs in addition to written reports, for their mental well-being and for more comprehensive record keeping, should the IOA question why Elizabeth lost her mind (she can point to a home movie of all the reasons). These interviews are compiled with all the relevant footage from the gate teams and Atlantis itself and stored on a secure database.
It's all great and very classified.
Until Zelenka, sleep deprived and trying to send a video message to his family, accidentally and unknowingly uploads the entire database to the Internet via the base's link with Earth. A bored teen and aspiring showrunner stumbles upon it, edits the footage together into weekly episodes and begins airing each episode on a website he designed specifically for it.
Within days, the hit new webseries "The Adventures of the Atlanteans" goes viral.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. But Jack started yelling at me, then a scene with Mariah coming into her own popped into my head, so… I’m writing another story in my Hero series. I think this story will finally tie up the last of the loose ends, including a very large one that has been woven throughout the series. The title comes from Hero by Skillet.
I really hope this is the last story in the series, but knowing the characters, they won’t leave me alone. Thank you for making it this far and continuing the story of Dr. Mariah Gray, as she lives her life and embraces her gifts. I appreciate all my loyal readers.

The new arrivals to Atlantis, both the Earth folk and the Athosians, are coming to terms with their new home, and Sheppard has to choose the members of the flagship team. What better way to do that than in the face of impending doom? I mean, is there a better way?
Obviously, he needed someone military, who could watch his back. He needed a scientist, because this was a scientific expedition still. He needed a diplomat, because he sure as hell wasn't one. And...whoever he did choose needed to be someone he trusted, someone he believed in, someone who would come through when needed...and, most importantly, someone who could take a joke. How hard could that be?
(At the end of "Rising," Weir asks Sheppard who the members of his Team might be. This little story, taking place the morning after and before the events of Hide & Seek, is one way it might have happened.)
