"Dude, are you okay?"
Pim bit at his fist, anxious to admit what was wrong. "I started it. Uhm, I'm sick, I'm Fervent." He said, his voice shaking. "I need you to get me home. Please. Just tell Mr. Boss I'm sick and can't work for a while."
"Fervent?" Charlie questioned. "Do you have a fever? You look like you're burning up-" Charlie bent over to touch Pim's forehead, and he was sweltering. "Pim we need to get you to a hospital-"
"No Charlie!" He pushed his hand away, and stared helplessly at the floor. "Fervor, estrus, heat, I don't know what non-amphivians call it." He looked Charlie in the eye, who was still bent over to his level. Pim lips quivered, as he had never felt so humiliated. He avoided his gaze and turned his head down towards the floor. "I'm entering my mating drive." He spoke quietly through gritted teeth.
"Oh..." Charlie looked at Pim, and then it clicked.
