Summary

The two commissars, the fresh and the exhausted, must grapple with their place in the galaxy. It is through each other that they realize there is more to them than the uniform they wear and the faith they uphold.
An Imperial Guard story - not unlike similar works by Black Library, such as Gaunt's Ghosts. This story has a little more emphasis on the human condition and intimacy within the setting. Read it for the action, read it for the adventure, read it for the romance, read it for the setting, or read it for all four - it works however you like.
