She was very lonely, and being taken in by Tony Stark of all people for being an apparently missing half-sister was not her ideal image of what her family might look like. She'd dreamed of this moment, but she couldn't help but feel incredibly nervous about all of this. It was a bit intimidating, all the money, the affection, but she liked her new family, and they grew close over the years.
Going to the Academy was hard, not living with Tony anymore and not seeing her family made it harder to leave, but she wanted to be an agent. Finding love was just an odd side effect of that journey. Whatever was to come, to harm the ones she cared about or the world, she would fight tooth and nail to protect what she loved.

Skye gets adopted by Tony Stark who is her brother and becomes a family with him, Rhodey, Pepper, and Happy! She attends the Shield academy where she meets Fitzsimmons, Coulson, May, her new field partner Trip, and later, the love of her life, Natasha. She joins Coulson’s team with Fitzsimmons and Trip, and faces the trials ahead as best she can as a field agent and Inhuman with the love of her life by her side. (So far MCU canon compliant, will veer off canon though.)

A continuation of the life and times of Thraken Dericote and the Galaxy in which he finds himself. Watch as he continues to lose himself to fighting in a war where decisive actions become more and more necessary and where mistakes could cost the lives of untold billions. The risks have never been greater as a war of shadows and a war of ships and men bring greater and greater clashes. Will the many Rebellions and Insurrections against the Empire succeed, or will their internal squabbling give the Galactic Empire the opportunity to extinguish the final embers of Republic and Confederacy both. Only time will tell.
This fic is the sequel to "A Life at War: Twilight". It is not necessary to have read Twilight to understand what is happening here, though of course I recommend it anyway.
