During an ordinary recess at Third Street School, T.J. and his friends get caught up in the newest craze-playing Pokémon on their Game Boy Colors, debating types, starters, and strategies beneath their favorite oak tree. What starts as just another game suddenly becomes something impossible when they wake up the next morning to their parents calmly telling them they're about to receive real Pokémon. Confused and stunned, the kids watch the news announce the beginning of the Pokémon Trainer Program, ride the bus in disbelief, and realize their world has completely changed.
