Summary
Your mentor has always been a rather curious character - Sweet, but certainly strange. Talkative, but secretive. Plus, there's the whole consuming-magical-artifacts-to-feed-the-weird-orb-in-his-chest thing.
Nothing could have prepared you for the confession of his impending death. Nothing could have prepared you to be left to clean up his mess as he ventures off on a literal suicide mission.
And you're even less prepared when the mind flayers strike, leaving you and a sassy companion to embark on a journey to save the man who was once so accepting of his demise.
