Summary
Three words on a dead frequency. A rock in a blue star system. No atmosphere means no sound means no voices means no one needing anything.
Kara Zor-El has a secret. When everything is too much and too too much, she sends a message through an FTL bounce-relay that only one person in the universe can receive. Then she goes to a rock and takes the cape off. Lobo shows up with bad beer and worse cigars and never, ever asks her to be okay.
This is not a love story. This is a story about load-bearing structures and what happens when two people who can't break each other find the only place in the universe where neither of them is performing.
It is not a thing.
(It is totally a thing.)

Summary
The sign on the door says THIS SAUNA WILL KILL YOU.
Kory built the room for herself. A space too hostile for anyone who isn't what she is. Kara started showing up three months ago. Neither of them has acknowledged the pattern.
This is not a story about bodies. This is a story about two engines pretending to be furniture, in the one room on the station where the furniture can't survive them.
Notes: Companion piece. Same universe as "Yr'kleth." Kory's assessment register is deliberately different from Lobo's: professional, volitional, learned in the Citadel, kept by choice. She doesn't file things in "the place." She recognizes things from experience.

Summary
Barda's hindbrain can't tell the difference between fighting and wanting. Granny Goodness designed it that way.
She spars with Kara every week. Her body does the thing every week. She tells Scott every week. He listens every week.
The room has doors. That's the escape. Not from the feeling. From the silence.
Notes: Companion piece. Same universe as "Yr'kleth" and "Thermal Equilibrium." Barda's erotic register is haptic, not visual: she felt first, saw second. The Furies were trained in darkness.

Summary
Guy Gardner has three datavaults in his ring. Six hundred worlds. Four thousand species. The most comprehensive comparative dataset any human has ever compiled.
Kara Zor-El eats a sandwich in a slightly too big t-shirt and breaks the framework.
He will never tell her. Not because he's afraid. Because he knows what it's like to have your cover blown, and you don't do that to someone.
Notes: Companion piece. Same universe as "Yr'kleth," "Thermal Equilibrium," and "Load-Bearing." Guy's mechanism is operational security rather than filing (Lobo), rooms-with-doors (Barda), or warrior-caste assessment (Kory). Same function, different architecture: a man building increasingly secure containers for something he won't look at directly.
