Comment on Convenient Husbands

  1. Ok, so first off - favorite genre, marriage of convenience AU + romcom? Yes, please and thank you. 30+ words of it from one of my favorite writers? Dream come true. Everything about this fic screamed perfection from the start and I was not disappointed for a second. The integration of Zach and Crowley into the story was delightful and wonderfully appropriate. The characterisations were well-done. The setting and circumstances were wonderfully set up and executed. Your writing is crisp and clear, always such a delight to read. I really enjoyed the usage of a different type of supernatural in this, it was new and interesting - especially regarding the bits with the Impala, which was touching. Dean kidnapped and tortured was also really excruciating to read despite the lack of specific description, so you handled that wonderfully. As well as Cas' rage. The slow build up was wonderously endearing, the wing kink was a wonderful added bonus, as well. Ugh there was so much I enjoyed that typing this out on a tablet is unbearably frustrating as it is cockblocking me from pouring praise on you and your story from beginning to end. (there were a few parts where I think you mistook Dean for Cas, but small, non consequential errors are unimportant.) what really marks this as fabulous is the fact that I would cream myself at the prospect of any follow up - especially involving more about Cas' family - but am perfectly content and happy with the end as is. Congratulations, you've stolen an hour of my sleep. 8') (well spent, of course) Thank you for your brilliant writing!

Aaaaa thank you for the awesome comment! How much you love the marriage of convenience trope is pretty much the way I feel, too, I think I have a list somewhere of all the cliches I'd want to write someday, and this was a chance to scratch one of those off my list. Your kind words have me flailing, as with all long fics there's that doubt whether you've put it together right so there's a tremendous relief on my part that this particular journey worked for you. I have no plans for a sequel at the moment, I've got quite a few other projects to think about right now (not least the upcoming Dean/Cas Big Bang, though that's going to be more angsty and less fun than this one). Bless and thanks again!
