    Also, yeah, they’re shutting down this site 😭 I’m legit gonna have mental break without AO3. I’m boutta go to the mattress room 😔

    They want to pass some sort of law about shutting down non-profits to prevent domestic terrorism. But it’s hard and almost impossible to clearly define what could be qualified as such. And it also may be to prevent LGBTQ material from getting into the hands of kids. I’m not too sure about the validity about that last one being a reason(though I could talk about it for YEARS on end). Admittedly, most of my information comes from TikTok’s, the AO3 subreddit, and very shallow research. But multiple friends of mine took a look, and that’s what the law seems to be about.

    I got a flash drive and started frantically downloading everything I could get my mitts on. I would suggest doing something like that regardless, considering the amount of authors deleting their work and just a generally good policy.
