Ooh, this is a complicated fic. It seems Sasuke is trying to cope with the pain the violent loss of his family caused him. He’s using the physical sensations of the cold snow as a means of escaping from his thoughts, rooting himself to the most basic, primal parts of the present so he can avoid the past. However, I can’t offer a deep analysis because I don’t have experience with mental health struggles on the scale a character like him would be dealing with. I would guess that he’s hoping if he just endures as well as he can, the pain will ease up on its own. After all, there’s nothing else he can do. It’s interesting reading a short fic about traumatized Sasuke that gives the central focus to emotions other than anger, though anger isn’t bad, either. I appreciate you sharing.
I'm glad you appreciated it! I actually am pretty surprised that anyone would read this since its super short and doesn't look like there is much to it. But regardless, I enjoyed reading your thoughts about it. I hope I can write more things connected to this someday since, now that I've reread everything, its not as terrible as I remember.
