I got called away by the tedious demands of actual life before I could finish this story last night, and was so amused and pleased to find that the smut started in the very next chapter after I'd left off. LOL.
Loved Greg realizing exactly what a calm cool badass Mycroft can be, and the poor neglected ensuite finally getting some action.
Loved the hell out of this:
"You are…good. Good at it. And I like to watch you do it. I like to make you do it."
Oh jeebus. Now I want Mycroft to make me do stuff too... *gazes speculatively into the distance...* and I'm not normally super into Mycroft. I am not anti-Mycroft by any means, love him as a character in general, and there are certain scenes/photos and certain fics where it hits me and I go, "oh... so THAT's the appeal... yeah I totally get that. Nice." but he's normally somewhat distant for me behind Sherlock, Lestrade, and John, when it comes to smexyness. This was... nice. Heh. :)
Also, THANK YOU for making Commissioner Callihan a woman. I fucking hate being reminded of how much cultural sexism I've internalized; I was a bit surprised by that reveal and I'm a woman! An educated feminist woman in a supervisory position myself! Argh! Anyway, I couldn't help but imagine her as Judi Dench giving them a very stern talking to, and even though Mycroft was only sort of shamming at being contrite, I still loved every second of it. :)
[edit = just fixing a glaring typo spotted in notification email]
Heh. I consider it a great compliment if this Mycroft caused some stirrings even in one who isn't normal prone to such things. XD That's awesome.
And thank you for the comment about Callihan. It was a conscious effort, as it often is, to break against the internalised sexism brought about by so many films where the authority figure in a place like a police force is almost invariably a man. I should admit, however, that I had a little bit of help bringing that to my attention back in October, so my awareness of the whole situation was a bit higher than it might otherwise have been; I developed at that point a small obsession with Inspector Lewis, which has a female Chief Inspector, so immediately upon deciding to develop this character I suspected I knew who she was like (and maybe even a little bit how she looked).
But it is true that writing original characters, at least for me, can be both a blessing and a minefield, so I'm glad you liked having her in the story. :)
