For some reason, ever since they've graduated, Sakuma won't leave him alone. Just a year ago even the sight of him made Keito feel sick, but now it's as if every twist and turn is hiding Sakuma behind its doors. He's always around somewhere, a niggling, persistent thorn in his side- except even a thorn would be preferred at times. For one, thorns don't whine.

The banter and characterization!!!
" Need is subjective, Kei-kun. And I am not always a good person. What if I need something that you can't give? What if I ask for something you're against?" His sour expression shifts into something more vulnerable, something that makes Keito want to smooth out all the lines on his face until he's smiling that infuriating languid smile again. But he can't- Sakuma's stuck with this fragile, weary face. "I could hurt you."
What Keito wants to say is something comforting. Something reassuring, something like, you won't, or, what makes you think that? But they both remember. They know what he's capable of, and they know the damage done.
So he doesn't say any of that. Instead, he shrugs. "You could."

To put it simply, "this is like that not-so-shitty Adam Sandler movie - except with less walruses and more death."
In other words, Craig gets shipped with Kenny, not Tweek, during Wendy's presentation and it all goes downhill from there.

Like, he’s been abducted by aliens, battled giant guinea pigs, played in Michael Jackson’s backyard… weird shit happens to him all that time, and this?

Summary
This frantic skipping in his chest—as they walked together under a sky blanketed with stars, amid glowing streets and trees bathed in golden light—he wondered, if it was normal, that he already treasured this first friend, this first true friend that he’d ever made, the way he did now. That, when he told her it was customary to make a wish at festivals like these, and she’d said she wanted to hangout as much as possible for the rest of their trip, that he’d been engulfed in a feeling so warm he was sure he’d melt right into the pavement.
Happiness alighting at his fingertips. Her warmth pressed into him from his side. Juliana crowding his every senses. Maybe it would be easy, to take her hand, and squeeze it tight.
Maybe it would be the right thing to do.
Maybe it, his heart whispers, was what he wanted to do the most.
Or: the affections of youth were tempestuous, and Kieran had been unable to prepare for the storm.

The symbolism and parallels are amazing
One always catches his eye more than most. One that ends in an interview that lasts for about as long as it starts. The Kanto region was home to plenty Champions; dominant figures touting Pokémon specific to the area. Charizard with flames burning bright, Blastoise with canons strong enough to tear down buildings, Venusaur with vines sharp enough to cut metal. One such Champion had used all three of these Pokémon well in his final match after defeating the Elite Four for the first time, taking the crown away from the previous victor only minutes after they’d become a Champion themselves.
The video of the battle was old, the quality faded, but even then Kieran could see that his eyes had been so vacant when the reporters had ran up to his thin figure in the aftermath. Barely a nod in response to the questions, no words daring to dart past his lips pressed tightly together, eyes constantly looking back to the one he’d defeated; an unreadable expression etched onto his face.
Rumours had always surrounded this Champion in particular; when it came to what happened to him afterwards. That of bracing wintry weather for years in isolation, of residing in mountain caves untouched by humans and Pokémon alike, of separating himself from the world below entirely. In these stories he became a folktale, a ghost, a god.
All to train alone away from the company of others. All to grow stronger, to become better. Or so they said. He’d never gone on record to clarify his reasons, if he had any. If any of these rumours that spiralled from his absence had been true in the first place.
Kieran doesn’t think it’s such a bad idea himself. To severe his ties to the world entirely, and lose himself in the blizzards of the heavens above.
