#Magic Academy AUThis is their fourth year at the Magic Academy, and as hard-working geniuses, they have dominated all three academies and have now settled in the Badger Academy.
It was easier not to prepare for the transfer exams, and Gladio shifted his focus to something different, such as sports, wilderness survival and exotic animal breeding.
As for his friend Ignis, he continued to study magic pharmacology, herb cultivation, history and folklore, and various other knowledge that, at least until that day, Gladio thought was just a personal interest.It started when Gladio noticed something strange in Ignis's eyes, apart from the congestion of sleep deprivation, a change in pupil color: the emerald green was tinted with gold. After mentioning it to Ignis, he obviously became distressed, but still pretended to be calm, hoping that Gladio would not mention it to others, and then put on sunglasses as protection.
Although Gladio agreed, he not only paid more attention to Ignis's condition, but also took time to look up explanations in the library, trying to find out what his best friend was hiding.2023/03/28

That was what Ignis had been waiting for before he unveiled the disappointment and self-pity he had been nursing in a doleful sigh. With spring flowers peaking all over Insomnia, the days left to enjoy the seasonʼs boon was counting. And at the rate of Ignisʼ recovery, and the stuff he had to do in the office and for Noct, he doubted he would have any days left to enjoy himself like the others.

Ignis, who joined the Crowns Guard three years ago as a trainee, participated in the routine inventory and proposed improvements to the superiors, and now he is the main person in charge of this affair.「It seems to be correct to leave the inventory checkup to young people. I am too old to handle these things.」
Clarus knocked on his shoulder, causing a burst of laughter from the surrounding team members, especially Gladio who was laughing exaggeratedly.「If Prime Minister needs a partner doing squats, I would be happy to accompany you.」

“Aren’t you going to put some poor thing out of their misery soon?” Ignis asks him when Gladio plucks a sticky note from his locker - nothing but scribbled winking face and a phone number. “Or at least ask who you do want to go with and take yourself off the market.”
“Maybe I’m just waiting for the right person,” Gladio laughs, but simply crumples this note up and tosses it in a perfect arch towards the nearest trash can. He slams his locker shut and turns to stare at Ignis for a long moment. It lasts long enough, feels so intense, that Ignis fidgets under his gaze, blush blooming across his cheeks.
Gladio’s grin softens and he takes Ignis’ textbook from his hands to stack on top of his own to carry.
“Maybe I’m just building up my confidence,” Gladio says.Alternatively: Gladio won't agree to take anyone to Spring Fling and Ignis can't work out why.

On the way, he made Ignis the floral tea that Clarus had recently received and praised so much, and then unknowingly, this is what happened.「That's the tea that Daddy said he would keep for himself! How dare you steal it? I'll tell him about this!」
Of course, Iris didn't say anything. And since there's no way to wake up Ignis, she decided to put down her school bag, took off her jacket, and carefully climbed onto Gladio's other side of the couch, rested her head on his lap.「Iris?」
