His name is not exactly Akira Kurusu. It was a computer error, but Akira stuck with it because it meant that he could pretend he was free. Even if it is just in name… Even if it was only for a year.
A boy who aspires to become a Hero, and the boy who admires Shirou Emiya. Akira would soon be summon back to his hometown, as the Fifth Holy Grail War commences in the city of Fuyuki. And following behind him, is Goro Akechi. The Detective Prince, who recently teamed up with the Phantom Thieves after Okumura's death.

"Welcome to the Velvet Room," the man says, gesturing with one of his too-long arms at the unstable space around them. His voice sounds surprisingly kind and wizened, and it should probably be reassuring, but it only serves to put Goro even more on edge. "I am Igor. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
"Wha—" Goro tries, but his voice is shaky and small in a way that makes him sound years younger than his actual age — which is unacceptable, and he has to swallow, hard, before he can try again. "What— where is this?
"This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter," the old man replies. As if that's actually an explanation.
Akechi wakes up in the Velvet Room after dealing with the ruler of Royal's final palace.

Around two years had passed since the collapse of the Metaverse and Masayoshi Shido’s earning of a far kinder sentence than he deserved, in Goro Akechi’s opinion anyway. Goro had long since abandoned his life of dealing death, trying to awkwardly settle into a new, normal one with the wild card dealt to him by the gods named Akira Kurusu.
All seemed well. Neat, bland, and practically average except for Akira himself, whom Goro had no clue what to do with.
Then one night Akira was abducted, and Goro quickly realized he’d give up a normal life and play one more twisted game just to get his Joker back.
