Summary
There’s a power within me that I don’t understand. It terrifies my family, scars them, attracts the Resistance. It endangers us all. So we run. I leave the Bonds I never got to find. I leave behind the child I could have been to protect everyone from the restless power beneath my skin.
Then I’m unwittingly forced to return to the community I left behind for eight years, and I learn that not only do I have five Bonds, but I have a Central as well. And she’s just as dangerous and threatening as I am.
The Bonds and powers under our skin aren’t normal. They require answers unknown, but getting them is easier said than done. And we can’t quite leave them to the fate of the gods.
