Summary
Merlin has always felt somewhat responsible for the other serving staff in the castle, since he has been in service for longer than most of them by now. Therefore, he always sacrifices himself when less than desirable nobles come to visit the castle. He doesn't tell Arthur, though, seeing as the King already knows and turns a blind eye to everything that happens during his guests' stays in his castle's walls.
