Summary
One last summer. One small town. One almost-confession that keeps getting interrupted.
With college looming and their lives about to diverge, Eugene and Pugsley escape to a nearby town for one final day of normalcy or as normal as it gets for a would-be entomologist and an Addams. What starts as a joking "fake date" turns into something far more complicated as shared ice cream, cluttered thrift stores, photo booths, and late-night carnival rides bring simmering feelings to the surface.
But in the shadow of their impending goodbye, neither boy knows quite how to name what’s growing between them...or whether there’s still time to ask for more.

Summary
This fic is part of a series of one-shots based on flashbacks from "Bug Off, We Are Getting Married." Pugsley and Eugene are aged up to approximately 17 here.
When Pugsley convinces Eugene to explore a sealed-off wing of Nevermore, they expect dusty artifacts and maybe a cursed book or two… not a very real, very angry monster sealed away for good reason. Now, with one twisted ankle, one rapidly escalating crush, and a lot of poor decision-making between them, the boys are running for their lives...
…and maybe straight into something neither of them is ready to admit.Well, at least not out loud.

Summary
After an interesting break, with Pugsley visiting Eugene's house, the two of them developing feelings and making very awkward first moves to lead to their dating, it's no surprise that they started dating.
It wasn't a surprise to Enid, Wednesday, Agnes, Ajax, the list goes on, when they revealed it to them.
So, they needed to officiate the relationship with a date!
Pugsley's idea of visiting haunted, abandoned toxic factories or houses as a romantic first date put off Eugene. Even when Eugene suggested alternative such as bug catching, comic bookstore readings and more, Pugsley could only sigh, stating they'd done all the above already, and wanted to make it special.
Then, the announcement speaker startled them into a new field trip up and incoming, an amusement park.
Well, if they didn't have any first date ideas in mind; perhaps this could be their first date instead?

Eugene's mouth says "I have a boyfriend" before his brain files the paperwork. His brain objects. His mouth has receipts.
Now Pugsley's coming for the summer, and Eugene's mouth has some more opinions it hasn't run past management.It started with a wedding and now we're filling in how these two got there. Reading order:
1. Bug Off, We Are Getting Married: the one that started it all. they get married. it's unhinged and you might cry.
2. The Right Person: the one where Pugsley takes a girl to a dance and Eugene watches moths and neither of them is having a good time for reasons they are not ready to name.
3. The Unveiling: the one where they wake up a monster at Nevermore and Pugsley carries Eugene on his back and nobody still talks about it.
4. See You Soon: the one where they spend their last summer day together and share a spoon and still don't say it.
5. Unread, Unsent, Unsaid: the one where they're at separate colleges texting each other into emotional destruction while pretending everything's fine.
6. Unfinished: the one where Pugsley kisses Eugene in a cemetery and Eugene gets on a plane and leaves.
