God-Tier Recommendations
The best of the best fics I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Godly feats of concept, characterization, and storytelling are memorialized here for all to see, because I can't help but reread them.

Summary
Zagreus was a toddler when his mother took off into the great unknown, leaving him and their life in a Staten Island funeral home behind. He is twenty-three when she comes crashing back into his life, offering him a home away from his tyrannical father and an opportunity to reclaim the relationship she'd abandoned long ago. Choosing his mother's life and refuge in Brooklyn seems to hurt just about everyone who matters in the borough of his birth, but Zagreus has a whole new family in the colorful Oreivatises from Queens. Reconciling a lifetime of trauma with the stories of so many others in his life may be the hardest thing Zagreus has ever had to do, but in the end, it's worth it.

High in the halls of ice and wintry waters, an iceberg cracks.
They tend to do that. It’s hardly a unique occurence. Every day, babies are born, good men die, fires start, and ice breaks.
It is natural. It is meant to be.

Something wet rolled down his cheek. He was crying.
Nicholas. Nicholas. Wolfwood.
Beloved.Miracle, the plants whispered. What is a miracle?
Vash stared at the grave.
“Something impossible,” he said quietly. “Something impossible that happens anyway.”Rem and the plants meet Wolfwood.

Summary
"Living" doesn't have to mean beating heart, working lungs. Living means hanging on by your fingertips, it means people make it up as they go along, it means grasping for connection in the dark. And exhaustion, and pain, and one hundred and seventeen emotions all pushed into that dark, wet space between your ribs. It means carving something out of the rubble. It means leaving a mark, closing your eyes and opening them, and finding something standing in front of you that you want to see.
Kieren and Simon deal with the aftermath of Amy's death, recover and relapse, learn each other, learn themselves, and watch the world change.
