Summary
Surprisingly, he found he wasn’t that anxious about seeing Noct again, probably soon if Ignis’ estimates on how long his current meeting thing would go for were correct. Perhaps it was just the encompassing relief of not being too sick and miserable to move, or, floating in the back of his mind, the thought that he was even alive at all.
He still shuddered at how bad things had been there for a bit, if Ignis was to be believed, and he hadn’t even known it. That’s how bad it had been.

Summary
It was only then that he took notice of the way his charge’s hands were held, cupped close to his chest, curved over and around one another, keeping whatever it was he so clearly held out of sight. Even as he noticed all of that, Noctis was moving them, pulling them away from his chest, though not letting them stray far, and unfurling his fingers slowly.
“Noct, what are you-”

Summary
Prompto swallowed down a whimper and shimmied back further into the silky lining of the pocket. Oh gods, oh gods, if Noct decided to tell him he was in here he would be powerless to stop him, and utterly trapped too.
The realisation that he was completely at the human’s mercy crashed over him all over again like an ice-cold gust of winter air.

Prompto gasped, terror shooting to grip his throat. He stumbled blindly backwards, yelping when his foot snagged on the cord of the toaster and he tumbled on to his ass.

A pin could have dropped on the floor below them and he might have heard it, such was the depth of the silence that swallowed the room.
“Holy shit,” Gladio breathed.
Prompto curled in on himself, biting his lip hard enough to sting. Now he had done it. He had broken the golden rule of all borrowers. He hadn’t meant to, it had just slipped out.

Maybe they just forgot something. Maybe they would just grab it, Specs would get annoyed at Noct for leaving the TV on, and he’d be in the clear. Gods he wasn’t gonna come out of the wall for a week at lea-
“TV’s still on, he can’t have gotten far,” a new, impossibly deep voice growled.

Summary
The biggest and most important rule that all borrowers were supposed to follow was to never be seen by a bean. And he got that, really he did. Beans were huge, loud, and super, super dangerous. So yeah, not really surprising that his kind stayed well out of sight of them, only taking tiny, unimportant things that most would never even notice going missing. He totally got it.
But get this, the television was the single greatest invention humans had ever made.
