You were in your backyard innocently watering the newly sprouting plants. It was early spring so you could finally spend some time outside and not be caged in the house like the little birdie you were during the winter. You gently hummed a soft tune as you sprayed each crop with the equal amount of attention.
Tomatoes, eggplants, and cucumbers.. oh and the peppers. Peppers. You hated peppers with every fiber of your being but your husband Ghost forcefully planted them into “your” garden. There was nothing you could do about it anyway so you gave the little angry sprout some water too. All was going well until you heard the harsh, heavy thuds of thick boots repeatedly hitting the pavement as they inched closer.. and closer towards you.
