This is self-indulgent fluff for when you have a hard day and could do with a nice vicarious cuddle.

Summary
You’d wanted to kiss him then. You want to kiss him still. There’s no denying it now, even if it’s already much too late. Like buying a ticket to a new city only to find out there weren’t any available. The money still sitting at the bottom of your wallet.
You had missed the train to his hands clutching you like you were going to discorporate, the gentle, stubborn way he angled his head to match yours. It was terrible. It was clumsy and wrongly timed and desperate.
Still, it was Crowley, and it was never going to be a Jane Austen ball with a being like him. You’d convinced yourself it was enough. One horrible, shell-shocking kiss that unnerved you more than any apocalypse could.
The day he kissed you, you learned about human hunger. Nothing in Heaven compared.
OR: After all their fighting and a disproportionately large amount of yearning, Crowley and Aziraphale actually talk at the end of the world, and come to another conclusion.

“It’s just,” he continued, “I’ve noticed that humans—some humans, anyway—they use that word, angel, as a…well, as a sort of…endearment.”
“Do they?” said Crowley, who had invented using the word as an endearment in the 13th century AD.
