Chapter Text
Lucifer huffed as he and Vaggie both landed on the final battlefield. It had taken them far longer to reach the place than they had wanted, as they kept getting distracted by others needing help after being trapped or just random sinners attacking.
Then they'd managed to track down Charlie and reunite with her. Lucifer was only scraped up a little as his cage had only been activated a couple of times, but his daughter hugged him nonetheless as she cried at what he had gone through.
And now, as chaos was dying down, the battlefield had gone quiet. All that remained was two broken sinners. Still alive but broken by what had been done to them.
They had fought many overlords and lived.
Lucifer winced as he caught sight of the Radio Demon who was now leaning against Vox’s body. And Vox was clinging ever harder to him.
Lucifer teared up. Happy to witness the reunion that he ever so truly desired for his own wife.
However, he was surprised as Vox’s head practically did a 360-degree turn and he gently released his hold on Alastor before he snarled at them.
He didn't even look like he could recognize them. His eyes glowed and swirled as his power continued to flow from him and through the air and ground. Lucifer's eyes widened in surprise as he realized that Vox was still trapped in his own mind and absolutely everything except himself was going to register as a danger to Alastor.
Not good.
Not good at all.

Vox growled as he protectively stood over Aleister. He let his power build around the battlefield now that it wasn't being diverted into searching every corner for Aleister's frequencies. His power thrummed. He would try any that dared to come close and threaten his Aleister.
He was startled slightly when he felt an insistent tug at his remaining good arm before he felt Aleister grasp it completely in his hand.
He hummed as he glanced back at Aleister. Who was definitely running low on adrenaline and likely to pass out soon. Aleister was looking at him and easily converted his feelings through that alone.
And though damaged, patchy words came through their bond, “It's over. I'm alive. Come back to me.”
Vincent growled slightly.
He then felt a familiar humming that had a slight tune to it. His brow furrowed as he stared back at his Aleister. He felt a gentle probing of familiar frequencies around him. He teared up as he couldn't help but respond with his own.
And their frequencies harmonized once again. His mind cleared from the heavy fog and madness that grieving had caused him.
He shook as he began to recall his powers while their frequencies remained harmonized. Aleister was his anchor. His rock. His everything.
And now he had brought him back to his sanity. Energy flowed back towards him. He hadn't realized that he had spread his resources so far and grimaced as the secondary frequencies he'd put out came rushing back to him.
Ever do slowly, the sky of Hell normalized again, and the electric blue of his influence seeped away from the damaged city. His demonic form shrank as he finally began to get his wits about him again.
He sank to his knees beside Aleister who had managed to keep himself sitting up. The two leaned towards each other. Vincent encased Aleister in his arms and released a wail of relief as tears flowed down his screen.
He pressed their foreheads together as they both wept. His own tears joined by his both distressed and happy wails at having his Aleister back.
But not whole. His dear had been silenced. And he held him ever tighter as he finally completely realized he just may not ever be able to hear his darling's beautiful voice ever again.
They were reunited, but things were far from okay.
-
Lucifer let out a sigh of relief as the situation was de-escalated fairly quickly by none other than Alastor. Which if there was going to be anyone that could calm the TV head down, it would be Alastor.
He leaned slightly against Charlie as he watched the scene play out. He had felt it when Vox’s powers released their hold over the city. He still had his empire and his territory, but he wasn't forcing his power into every crevice to search for Alastor any longer.
Lucifer grimaced.
There would be a massive fallout from this event considering that Vox’s power had destroyed more than half of Pentagram city in his rage and the war that he'd pretty much forced the other overlords to resort to.
But right now, he cursed as he watched not just Alastor pass out, but Vox as well as their adrenaline collectively crashed.
Lucifer quickly made his way over to them. Charlie and Vaggie hot on his heels. He checked them over quickly and grimaced. Both were quite injured, but Alastor was in worse shape. The healing that he'd done had helped some, but he was still in dire straits.
He grimaced as he opened a portal to the hotel and said, “Char, Vaggie, we must move quickly. We can't leave them out here unless we want them to die while they're at their most vulnerable.”
Soon, the three dragged both Media Overlords into the hotel and listened as their compatriots cursed at having two new heavily injured patients while a few others screeched in fear against the mere sight of the unconscious overlords.
