Price cussed under his breath, why was it that almost every mission they were on something had to go wrong. And now they were pinned down, and waiting for Laswell to get through their firewall so they could get a move on to their targets. Gaz and him had found cover behind some pillars, while Soap and Ghost were behind a wall right across from them.
“Watcher how are we doing the doors” Price asked through his comms
“Not good bravo their firewall is more advance then what we thought” Laswell answered
“Bloody hell Kate we cant stay here for much longer” Price looked around and saw that there was more coming ‘fuck fuck’ he thought as he lined back against the pillar. There was only one person that he could think of that could help them but he really didn’t want her to get involved in this, but bloody hell he would also like for them all to get back in one piece, plus Nik would kill him if he got back seriously injured again.
“Get Kira on the phone watcher” he finally said, Kate didn’t respond for a couple of seconds and he was starting to think that maybe they had lost connection but then she answered
“Bravo are you sure?”
“Yes… no but we are running out of option, just get her” Price said at last
“Okay you guys just hold on” Kate said before she grabbed her phone and dialed the number she knew as well as her own wife.
Kira looked at her phone briefly, saw the name and put it down before turning her gaze back to the man that sat in front of her at the table.
“Kira you can't be serious, it was just one time, one mistake, are you really going to throw all we had together away just because of one mistake?” he asked
Kira could not believe what she was hearing, but before she could answer him her phone was ringing again and when she saw it was the same person she know something was wrong
“I’m done listening to you and I have work to do” was all kira said before she answered the phone “Laswell what can i do for you”
“Kira i got a situation that i need you help with” Kate told her while still trying to get through the firewall
“Okay just give me a second” Kira said and laid the phone down in her lab and started rolling her wheelchair down the hall where her office was at her right side was Riley her service dog, who sat down at her side as she rolled up to her computer and put on her headphones. Her ex was still talking but had not followed her jet.
“Okay Watcher what do you need?” Kira asked while she was already coupling up with Kate's computer
“I need you to help me get through the firewall you see on your computer, and unlock the doors so bravo team can get through to the target, but we don't have much time they are surrounded and more are come at them” Kate told her and started linking Kira up to the bravo’s comms “Price i got her on the line, linking her in now” Kate called through the comms
“Thank fuck watcher we need to get out of here” Price answered her
“So is this what an easy mission looks like because to me it looks more like you are all in over your heads” Kira said through the comms she was already halfway through the firewall and she had now eyes on the team through the security cameras, and to say it was a shitshow was almost to say it lightly
“Not a good time Kira, will you please just get the bloody door open” Price almost growled when he said that
“Look behind you gentlemen and you will see the gate to heaven or hell depending on what is waiting on the side, is opening” Kira just said while trying to ignore her ex, who was standing behind her, while he was complaining about the whole situation and acting like he was the victim in all of this.
“Umm Kira, who is that in the background that I can hear?” Kate asked her
“Just Dick being well a dick” Kira answered still focus on her screen and to make sure that the team got through it alright before she locked it again to give make sure the other men couldn't get though easy and to give the team a little breathing room
“Okay guys the doors are locked, i will tell you if they are about to get through. Just tell if you need anything else”Kira told them before she turned towards her ex “Dick just stop, it’s over okay nothing you are going to say will chance my mind so just go a leave me to do my work”
“And what will you do after this is my apartment? You have nowhere to go and no one to help you move” Dick asked while he stepped closer to her
“I will figure it out, but for now all i ask is that leave the room let me do my fucking job” Kira told him while turning back to her computer but before she could turn all the way dick grabbed her arm and turned her back to him and suddenly she felt at stinging on her left chic and Dick was staring at her with wide eyes like he could not believe that he had just hit her and when he was staring down the barrow of a gun and Riley had stood up with his hackede raised and growling.
“Kira baby i- im sorry i didn’t mean it” was all he got to say before Kira was hissing “get the fuck out Dick or i’m gonna make sure you are really sorry”
“Kira… Kira what is going on” both Price and Laswell was asking her
“Nothing I will tell you later let’s get you home safe and sound first” Kira answered as she fully turned back to her screen, Dick having fled the room and from the sound of it the apartment.
Kira watched as the team moved through the mansion and captured the target. She kept watching until they all including the target were out of the mansion and on their way to exfil and all the way until they were on Nik’s heli. Before she got their firewall up and running again and made sure it looked like they had never been in the system. Before she got back on comms.
“Everyone okay?” she asked
“Soild” it came from three of the men
“We are fine Kira and as soon we have dropped of our little guest here, we will be on the way home” Price said
The team dropped off the target on the nearest base before Nik set the course to home.
“Thanks for the assist Kira you really saved your butt there” Gaz said
“You're welcome but next time try not to get pin down and maybe call me before it gets that bad okay” Kira told them, before she became serious again “Kate i’m gonna turn this channel privat is that okay?”
“Yay of course Kira are you okay?” Kate asked her as she could hear Kira's voice tremble a little, as Kira quickly made the channel private.
“I will be, I hope… dad can I come and be with you and Nik on base or in your apartment for a while please?” Kira asked, finally allowing the reality of her situation and what just happened to register in her head and slowly tears started to fall down her face. Price, hearing the small sobs Kira was trying to mute looked over at Nik who sat beside in the cockpit of the helicopter and took a deep breath.
"Of course you can, sweetheart, but tell me what's wrong, did something happen with Dick?” Price answered
Kira took a couple of deep breaths before answering “Dick and I are not together anymore dad… h- he cheated on me” but her voice still broke at the end.
“He did what!?” Nik yelled into the comms and his heart broke as heard Kira sobbing on the other end.
“Please i dont want to talk about it now can you guys just come and help me move when you get back home?” Kira asked, she was petting Riley who had laid his head on her lab.
“Of course sweetheart can you start packing all your things by yourself? And is he still there?” Price asked while he tried to figure out how long before they would be back on english solid
“No he left after i pulled my gun on him and Riley almost attacked him” Kira answered. She only realised what she had said when it had gone quiet over comms “dad, Nik, Kate are you still there?”
“Yes honey we are here what do you mean that you pulled a gun at him? What happened?" Kate asked after some time
“He- he hit me… and before you all go completely bananas, im okay and it was just one hit across the chic and he left shortly after he is not even in the apartment right now and i dont think he will be back anytime soon”
“He hit you!?” Price bellowed, already seeing red “he hit my little girl, he just signed his own death wanted!”
“Daddy no dont he is not worth it, im okay my chic sting a bit, but that is it, please just come home please” Kira cried she knew that her dad was protected of her and had a temper to bust
“Okay… okay malen'kiy voin, we will be home in about five hours and then we will come straight to you okay can you handle yourself until when?” Nik asked
“Yes i will start packing my things, Kate i will keep my tablet on in case you need me for something” Kira said
“It’s okay kira i will tell that you are busy at the moment and i will call you on you phone and stay on the line until your dad and Nik are with you incase somethings happens or he comes back” Kate told her, Kira was like a niece to her and her wife and knowing that she was alone with anyone to be able to come and help her the next couple of hours was breaking her.
“Kira im going to try at see if i can get a hold on Mac and Linea, maybe they can come and be with until we get there” Price said
“Okay and thank you Kate i will see you later dad and Nik Love you” Kira answered
“Love you too kiddo” came it from Price
“YA tozhe tebya lyublyu, malen'kiy voin” Nik said before Kira logged of
“Dont worry John i got her on the other line and she has already started coupling her computer and all that off” Kate told them
“Thank you Kate keep me informed i will try and contact Mac” Price told her before the comms went dead
In the back of the heli the rest of the team sat stunted Price had a daughter and he hadden told them why?
“Umm sir question?” Soap asked
“What is it, Soap?” Price said his temper was still high from what Kira had told them
“Why have you never told us you have a daughter?”
Price took a deep breath before answering “1. To keep her as safe as possible 2. It just never came up”
“But Nik and Kate know her” it came from Gaz
“We know her because I was there when John got the call about her and her mom had been in a car accident and drove him to the hospital and Kate meet her back when she was recruiting John for a mission and she happened to be there” Nik told them Price was busy trying to get a hold on Mac or his wife
“And what about her mom?” Gaz asked, Nik looked over at Price to see how much he was allowed to tell
“Just tell them Nik they are going to meet her now anyway” Price told him
“Her mom died in the accident and left Kira paralysed from the waist down” Nik said
“Ohh im sorry Price” Soap said
“Thanks” was all Price said before switching over to another channel and talking into his comms. The rest of the fly home was quiet except for Price talking to Mac and on cation Kate.
Kira was busy packing up her things when there was a knock on the door she turned in the direction of it wondering who it could be she though it couldn’t be Dick since he had a key and would just walk since it was his apartment and it was still too early for her dad and Nik to be back
“Who is it?” she asked when she had wheeled herself over to the door.
“Kira honey it’s us Mac and Linea” came the answer for the man on the other side of the door.
Kira opened it as fast as she could and before she knew it she was being hugged by MacMillan and his wife Linea and she just started crying again.
“Åhh sweetheart it's okay it’s going to be okay John told us everything, what do you need help with?” Linea asked
“Im almost done with the office so i just need to pack all of Riley’s things, my cloth and toilet things” Kira told them
“Is Kate still on the line?” Mac asked her
“Yes my phone is in the living room” Kira answered as she started rolling down the hall to the living room, Mac saw her phone and walked over grabbing it.
“Kate it’s Mac, Linea and I will stay with her and help her pack until John and Nik are here and help them move her she will be alright now” Mac told her
“Hey Mac, thank you I hate not being able to do more from here.” Kate answered “how is the head after the slap she hadn’t wanted to tell anything when i have asked her?”
Mac turned to Kira and walked over, gently he tilled her head to the side and saw a bruise was starting to form on her chic and under her eye
“It will bruise but that is it, the idiot better hope John doesn't see him” Mac told Kate but his own eyes said that Dick better not meet him either.
“Okay Kira i’m going to go now, but i will talk to you later take care okay?” Kate said
“Okay Kate and i will thank you for talking to me” Kira answered great full that she had the family she had
“Anytime sweetie anytime” Kate said before hanging up.
Time passed both quick and slow for Kira the next couple of hours, Mac and Linea help her pack the last of hers and Riley things, and made sure she got something to eat, after they found out she hadn't eaten anything since the evening before and it had been late afternoon when they had gotten there.
It was late in the evening when John and Nik knocked on the door. Gaz, Soap and Ghost had asked if they should come to, and help, but John had said no but asked them to make a room with its own bathroom and an office ready for her and given them a list of things to do to make sure that it was user friendly for her. It was Mac that answered the door and as he stepped aside to let them in he laid a hand on John’s shoulder “she’s okay John sad of course and still a little shaken from what has happened but okay” He told him before giving him a pad. They moved into the living room where Kira was with Linea and Riley. John wasted no time walking over to his daughter and checking her over for other injuries beside the bruise on her left chic.
“Dad. dad im fin okay i’m okay” Kira told her dad as he kept checking her before pulling her in for a big hug and kissing her forehead
“Are you sure you’re okay, really he didn’t do anything else?” Price asked her
“Yes im sure, im just glad your here now” she told him and as Price moved away, Nik took his place and hugged her just as tight
“Hey papa” Kira said into his shoulder, holding him just as tight as he was holding her.
“Are you all packed up? Not forgetting anything?” John asked her
“All packed up dad but i need to get by a pharmacy to get some medicine” she told him after Nik let go of her. John just nodded “okay have you eaten we can go get some and when get everything out in the car after or” John asked her
“I really just rated that we just got going don’t want to be here when Dick comes back” Kira told him
“Okay lets get all of this in the cars, Mac, Linea can some of it be in your’s?” John asked them
“Of course lets get everything out and then you guys can take Kira to a pharmacy and meanwhile we can get some food for us all we can eat back at base, what about the boys do you think they would want some?” Mac asked
Nik just laughed “I dont think they will be very happy with us, if we come back without some for them also” he said while looking Kira over himself the bruise on her chic and under her eyes was becoming more colorful. “To bad that Riley didn’t bit him”
“Im just glad you still remember the gun i gave you” John said
“Well i cant exactly kick him in the balls so…” Kira just told them and they all laughed at that. In no time they had all her things, Riley and herself in the cars and on their way to do their own thing before meeting back on base.
As they rolled up back on base Kira could finally feel herself starting to relax. The cars stop in front of the barrack the 141 used, John and Nik got out of the car and while John went over to unlock the door Nik got her wheelchair out of the back of the car for her. Kira opened her door and Riley jumped out shaking himself and starting sniffing the ground around him, while Kira got herself sited in her wheelchair. When she looked over at where her father was she saw what she assumed was the rest of the team had never met them, but John had told her a lot about them when they had talked over the phone or when they had been able to meet up in person. John and boys walked over to her as Nik, Mac and Linea started getting her things out of the cars
“Kira this is John ‘soap’ Mactavish, Kyle ‘gaz’ Garrick and Simon ‘ghost’ Riley, boys this is my daughter Kira and her service dog Riley” John introduced them
“Nice to meet you dad has told me a lot about you” Kira said while taking each of their hands. Looking at her the boys could easily see the resemblance between them, Kira had her father’s ice blue eyes, nose and chin. But her hair instead of brown like Price’s was almost jet black and went almost down to her lower back and her lips were a little thicker when his. Despite it being summer she was wearing sweatpants and a thick hoodie and what looked like an old leather jacket and gloves without fingers.
“Pleasure is all yours Kira you did after all save your butts back at the mansion” Soap told her
“How about we show you where your room is and help get your things in?” Gaz asked
“Sounds good, I know Mac and Linea have bought enough food for the whole army” Kira said, smiling up at them. Together it didn’t take them long to get all her things into her new room, before they all sat down at the dinner table, there was in the rec room with food spread out before them, talking and laughing. Kira looked around and thought that everything was going to be okay and actually believed it.
