Chapter Text

No thoughts, head empty. Annie stares at her wrist watch as she mindlessly waits for the digital clock to strike at 10PM. Just a minute more and her shift is ending.

Annie Leonhart, a young and promising Neurosurgeon at Stohess General Hospital, currently and most evidently a tired individual. She received a call for an emergency surgery at 3 in the morning, it was an exhausting procedure that lasted for hours and with minutes to spare for a break she just waited in the hospital lounge for her regular shift to start.

And here she is now, letting out a sigh of relief as her shift finally ends. She changes out of her scrubs and into a simple jeans and hoodie.

Annie bid her goodbyes to a few doctors and nurses she sees on her way out, she accidentally takes a whiff of coffee as she passes through a vending machine, she stops her tracks and ponders for a bit. The smell is enticing but she decides not to, she plans to hit the sack the moment she gets home.

She’s off her duties for the next 2 days and Annie is adamant on getting back the few hours of sleep she missed for the past 2 weeks.

She’s fucking tired and that’s the main point, she fights off the urge to close her eyes by blinking constantly and taking a deep breath in. The road is getting darker as she gradually exits the city proper. Annie lives an our away from the city, although she dreads the drive, especially late at night, coming home to a cozy and peaceful home in an almost cabin in the woods situation, Annie thinks the long drive is worth it.

Don’t get her wrong, she is a responsible driver. She drives at an appropriate speed, given her exhausted state and the lack of road visibility, Annie is cautious.

Primun non nocere, nonmaleficence, do no harm —an ethical principle that doctors carry.

She was practically driving at the speed of 30 kilometers per hour. So imagine her shock when she suddenly hits something—or someone, that came out of nowhere.

She immediately halts her car. Now, wide awake—no amount of caffeine could compete with the stress level and panic she feels right now.

She sees a shadowy blob of figure from her side mirror trying to get up. Adrenaline and general medic response kicks in and Annie immediately unbuckles her seatbelt and gets off her car.

She hurriedly inspects the unidentified figure and another dose of anxiety comes over her as she sees a person. She just hit a an actual person.

“Shit.” Annie curses out loud.

The person tries to get up again, however they struggle. Snapping out of her anxiety riddled trance, the doctor kneels down to the person and tries to lend an assistance. “Hey careful, you’re hurt.” she says.

Upon further inspection, Annie sees clearly that she hit a woman, although she sees no evident injury such as blood and there are hardly any scratch on her skin, the woman is definitely groggy.

The woman could’ve been drunk, deciphering from her grunts, incoherent mumbling and the incessant trembling of her closed eyes. Nevertheless, her state of inhibition is the less of her concerns as of the moment, it’s getting the woman to urgent care is her priority.

She struggles to carry the woman to her car, she was heavy and Annie is a well-toned lady. She carefully tucks the woman in her backseat, grabs a flashlight from her glovebox and tries to shine a light in the unconscious woman’s eyes to check for concussions. The doctor sighs in relief, there seems to be no signs of head injury. But that relief wasn’t enough to wash away the anxiety she has right now, she needs to get this woman checked.

However, Annie is miles away from the hospital right now, it’s in the middle of the night and she’s on the side of the road that’s surrounded by the woods, with no signs of civilization in near 3km radius.

So the doctor opts to bring the unconscious woman to her home, she has medical supplies there and it’s just 10 more minutes away from where the incident happened.

Despite the struggle, Annie finally managed to set the unconscious woman to a huge couch in her living room. Making it comfortable for her, she removed the throw pillows and rests one at the back of her head. She removes the woman’s cloak as she intends to inspect the woman further, and frankly it looked uncomfortable.

Now that Annie thinks about it, the cloak she was wearing is kinda odd. For one, in this day and age no one really wears a cloak—that almost resembles a grim reaper’s—not unless they’re in a renaissance faire. And two, it’s a thick black leather cloak with felt inner lining, it surely looked uncomfortable, Annie thinks even renn-faire nerds would modify the fabric to be at least comfortable (not that she knows, she just assumes). Even modern day ponchos have better fabric. And lastly, as the doctor successfully removes the cloak from the woman’s body, Annie almost trips as she sets the cloth down—it was heavy, How the fuck can she walk around in this? No wonder she was struggling earlier.

The doctor then began to check the unconscious woman’s body, and Annie could only scratch her head as she sees no visible injury from her at all. Aside from the apparent drunk behavior, Annie sees nothing wrong at all, and cannot for the love of god figure out what’s going on.

She even tries to wake her up with gentle taps, gradually turning her voice up, even shaking her but the woman won’t wake up and just lets out a few mumbles and grumbles.

Frustrated, Annie sits on the floor, she rakes her blonde locks back and cups her face as her elbows rests on her knees. She stares at the woman as she continues to grunt.

She’s too tired to deal with all of this. She might have committed a crime, or she could be possibly so tired right now that this is all just a sleep paralysis experience.

It was her turn to grunt, she’s so tired she could almost whine in frustration. She just wants to curl up in her soft bed and sleep her ass off for the next 2 days.

Annie’s eyes slowly begins to flutter close, and her head bobs down as sleepiness envelops her system. She tries to fight it off but her vision begins to blur and the next thing she knows it fades to black.

Annie feels something unsettling as she slowly opens her eyes, it takes her a few seconds to adjust her sight.

Right in front her is a face that’s way too close to hers, with dark irises staring into her soul. Annie lets out a yelp and loses her balance and stumbles back to her cold marbled floor.

“Who are you?” The person asks, voice deep and low, almost of an accusatory tone.

Which Annie furrows her eyebrows to, now that her system is all back up, she could clearly see that that the person who’s face was so close to hers earlier is the unconscious woman she had hit last night.

“You’re awake…” she mutters as she pushes herself to stand up.

The woman’s eyes follows her movements and stands up right too, she once again stares back at her and asks, “Who are you?”

Despite feeling conscious of the woman’s stare, the doctor tries to answer. “My name’s Annie, you’re in my house. I might’ve hit you with my car last night—I’m really sorry about that. Anyway, are you okay? How are you feeling? Is there anything that hurts?” despite feeling uncertain around the woman, Annie still goes to professional mode.

The woman cocks her head back, “So it was your vehicle that I fell into last night.” she says.

Annie furrows her eyebrows even further, “What do you mean you fell?”

“I was on top of a tree talking to a gremlin when my nether abilities drained, hence my falling in to your vehicle.” the woman said, as a matter of fact.

Annie fails to comprehend what the she said, instead it further raises her concerns. “I think you have a concussion, take a seat and let me check up on you.”

The doctor grabs her medical flashlight from the medicine and first aid kit situated in the center table that she had prepared last night—although it rendered useless as she there was nothing to patch out from the woman last night. But now Annie digress, she might have done some internal damage to her from the impact of the hit.

She raises her left arm to motion the stranger to take a seat. However, the said stranger grabs her arm instead stopping it from approaching her further, this startles Annie.

“There’s no need, a mere mortal invention could not scathe me.” the woman says.

Annie blinks at her a couple of time, “I’m pretty sure I hit your head hard.” she insists. She tries to move her arm away but the other woman has quite the strong grasp.

“I am perfectly fine, mortal.”

The doctor however is not convinced, with her free hand, she shines the flashlight directly into the woman’s eyes. The latter however did not even flinch but challengingly stares back at the light instead.

Once again, Annie sees no signs of damage. 'Maybe it is internal' she thought. “Hey umm… I am a doctor, how about I bring you to the hospital to have you further checked, the impact must have took a toll on you.”

Growing annoyed with the doctor’s persistence, the woman let out a low growl as she grips into Annie’s arm harder. “I am Mikasa Ackerman of the Nether Realm, daughter of the Demon Lord and I am indestructible.” she says with full prowess.

Instead of feeling intimidated, Annie lets out a chuckle “Okay, Demon Princess.” she says amusingly.

Confused with the doctor’s reaction, the said demon loses her grip. “Do you not understand what I said, mortal?”

“Sure.” Annie says curtly, “Do demons get hungry?” She decides to play along. The doctor now has a new theory. She’s pretty sure there’s a mental institution not far from when she found—hit the woman. They could have been missing a patient.

She decides to send the poor woman there later, but she will play along with and not startle her as she might refuse to go back there.

The demon nods at the question, “We do, mortal food is something we consume from time to time.”

Annie is feeling a little hungry too, the last thing she ate was a power bar and having to deal with whatever this is, is draining her sugar levels down. She struts into her kitchen with the demon trailing behind her.

She checks her fridge for any food, “So, Mikasa, right?” She looks behind her and the demon is still there eyeing her movements “Are eggs and bacon okay for you?”

The woman, now known as Mikasa simply nods. She simply stands in the corner of the kitchen as she watches Annie cook.

Savory smell envelops the kitchen and Mikasa admits to herself that she is famished, it has been a day since the Demon Lord had sent her to the mortal realm, she used her remaining nether force to summon a gremlin, her trusted servant to provide her with information of the mortal world. Unfortunately however, Mikasa got drained and grew suddenly weak, rendering her powerless and hence her falling into a passing vehicle. Owner of said vehicle is now making her food.

Human servants seems inefficient, they’re slow. She thinks.

Annie only got to eat a single piece of toast as Mikasa gobbles up their entire meal in seconds, the demon dares to demand more. She gave her a whole loaf of white bread instead.

While Mikasa is busy stuffing herself, Annie takes out her phone and searches up the mental facility in the area.

Bingo! Ehrmich Sanitarium, 13km away from her location. She sees a contact information upon searching. The doctor think it’s be best if she calls them first before sending Mikasa there, they must’ve been frantically looking for a missing patient right now.

She looks up from her phone, only to be startled a little with the said demon is already staring at her. “Done with the bread? Would you like more?” she asks.

Mikasa shakes her head.

The doctor gets up from her chair, “Alright, how about you take a shower? I’m pretty sure you’re all dirty from running in the woods and climbing up trees last night.” she leads Mikasa upstairs.

The demon just follows, servants tending to her is not new for the demon. Annie shows her to a bed room and to it’s adjacent bathroom.

“Take your time, I’ll just get you some clothes” Annie says before shutting the door.

Mikasa tilts her head to the side in confusion, “That’s odd” she mutters.

However, on the other side of the door, Annie takes her phone out as she goes out to the hallway. She uses this chance to call the mental institution while the so called demon is in the shower. It might freak her out if she hears that the doctor is sending her back to the facility.

However, Annie’s effort proved fruitless, apparently they’re not missing any patient at all, nor do they have any records of someone named Mikasa Ackerman, nor of someone that fits her description in their file.

As Annie hangs up, she wonders if the girl is from a different mental institution, but upon searching, the nearest one aside from Ehrmich Sanitarium is 2 cities away.

The doctor guesses it’d be better if she send Mikasa to the hospital she works at instead, she can check her there and maybe call the local police and they might help the poor girl out.

Annie goes back inside the room, and knocks on the bathroom, “Hey! Are you done?” she asks through the door. There was no response, she doesn’t hear any water running as well, “I’m going in!” she yells again before pushing the door open.

There she finds Mikasa still standing at the same spot she stood from earlier.

“You’re slow” Mikasa says.

Ignoring whatever she means by that, she asks her instead “Did you not shower yet?”

“I was waiting for you.”

“Oh… Do you usually require assistance?” Annie asks—her interpretation being that she’s a patient under assist bathing with nurses.

“Yes.” Mikasa responds—her interpretation being that she always has servants bathing her.

“Undress me.” Mikasa spoke again and gestures her head up, her servants didn’t needed to be told what to do, maybe humans are a bit slow and different, she thinks.

Annie was taken aback with the demanding tone, but follows nevertheless. The doctor is not new to assist bathing, her pre-med major was nursing and worked as a nurse for a year before going to med school. Although while she slowly undresses Mikasa she feels like a servant to a bratty royalty instead—which in hindsight she technically is, she has yet to realize it though.

She removes Mikasa’s shirt that almost looked like a black fitted tunic, surprised to see the taller woman’s bare breast. They’re a perfect size, Annie looks at hers and felt a little bit insecure.

Brushing it off, and choosing to be a professional instead, the blonde doctor kneels down to remove Mikasa’s boots and pants. She was immediately knocked back (for the second time today) on the tiled floor this time.

Mikasa had no undergarments at all, and as she pulled the pants down she’s greeted by a Mikasa junior just hanging around.

Lo and behold right in front of her is a woman with a rather well hung dick.

“Wha—why do y—?” Annie tries to speak but it comes out incoherent.

Mikasa looks down at her appendage, an information clicks on her head. It’s an information that her side kick gremlin told her last night. “Female humans don’t have penises huh?”

The weird question knocks Annie out from her momentary shock. Biologically speaking, it’s not entirely impossible for a woman to have a penis. Clearly Mikasa has estrogen, lots of it just by looking at her chest —Annie isn’t envious. (Not) But she just happens to have a reproductive organ that’s typically assigned to males.

I wonder if there’s also sem— okay… never mind. Annie is too medically curious that the shock immediately turned to fascination in seconds. The doctor wants do various tests with her, but she pushes the thought aside. The poor girl has probably been through a lot having been born differently.

Annie is thinking that poor Mikasa must’ve been severely bullied growing up that she developed a Delusional Disorder, feeling different from everyone else that she created a fake reality for herself where she claims to be a demon where she feels safe to be different. —The Neurosurgeon is prematurely diagnosing Mikasa at this point. However, it’s not a farfetched theory, but sometimes the simple answer has already been laid out right. Mikasa is a demon, she has a dick, that’s it. That’s all she wrote.

Mikasa clears her throat, the mortal seems to be taking her time on the floor while she deliberately stares at her penis.

Hearing Mikasa, the doctor pushes herself up and continues to pull down her pants, she ducks her head down and avoids eye contact with it—it being the dick.

Once Mikasa is totally naked, Annie turns the shower on and sets the water temperature to the way she prefers. She rolls her sleeves up as she call for Mikasa to step in.

She detaches the shower head and sprays Mikasa with water like she’s some sort of plant. Annie knows that just simply watering Mikasa won’t clean her up. She begrudgingly squeezes a dollop of shower gel her hand and haphazardly lathers it on her back. Annie tries to be respectful with her touch, she tries to avoid the things she should prohibited, but dear lord she’s slowly loosing her sanity.

To say that it was awkward as heck for Annie is an understatement, she tries to be professional and a decent human being by straying her eyes away from Mikasa’s package, but she can’t help it. it’s fascinating, but she’s trying to stay strong.

While Annie is silently suffering, Mikasa just stares at her, not minding the subtle—not so subtle—glance downwards that the blonde doctor gives her.

Mikasa has been feeling a strange pull with Annie ever since she woke up. For one, she doesn’t smell like any other humans, she smells enticing.

Two, the demon is pretty sure the sudden surge of her nether force’s complete drainage was because of Annie’s sudden presence in her vicinity. Her power had been weak from the moment she stepped foot into the mortal realm, but she still had enough to summon other demons but the moment Annie’s vehicle passed right under the tree branch Mikasa was standing on, her nether force was suddenly gone and her knees grew week.

And lastly, as Annie’s delicate hand gently caresses her body, Mikasa feels an unknown urge inside of her. The demon has been bathed by countless of servants before, had been in the presence of succubi before, but there is one thing Mikasa never experienced until now. Blood began to rush down to her penis and it began to slowly stand erect.

Annie notices it too. How could she not? the bulbous tip is staring directly at her. She tries to feign ignorance as she hurriedly sprays all the soap in Mikasa’s body away. She immediately turns around and grabs a towel.

“I can’t believe it, it’s a mortal.” she hear Mikasa mutter.

Annie grabs a bathrobe as well before facing Mikasa back. She flinched when Mikasa appeared right behind her, leaving a wet trail in the floor.

“...Mikasa?” Annie gulps.

“You’re my mate.”

“Huh?”

“You’ve erected my penis, you’re my mate.” Mikasa said like she’s discovering something fascinating.

Annie is barely processing everything Mikasa is saying, “Huh… What?”

“Children of the Demon Lord are permitted to one mate in their lifetime, only to their true mate can a Royal Demon feel sexual urges to, and you’re it. My penis has stiffen because of you, you are my mate” Mikasa explains, like it’s the most normal and logical thing ever.

A moment of silence to Annie’s last remaining braincell, “What the fuck are you talking about?!”
