Work Text:
No one lives in this house anymore. It's empty since a lot of years ago.
Old rusty gate screeches, when you lean on it. It opened by itself.
You turn in my direction. You smile, inviting me inside.
There's a smell of flowers in the air. Sweet and calming. Wind blows in our hair. It's peace and quiet. Not like in the city.
But this house is too quiet. Too empty. Too much dust and spiderwebs.
No one bakes pies in the morning. Little kids aren't running down the stairs to eat it with milk straight from the cow. No one runs to the fields to make flower crowns and bring them to their mum. No one swings on a swing higher and higher to the sky. To the stars.
I take a deep breath. Only then I hear that my parents' house is still alive. But not with them. With someone else. With people, who bought it from my sister.
"Ah, right. Satou-san's sister called me" you talk to the man standing in the doorway.
Little girl hugs his arm.
"Come inside, you can see, how nicely we renovated the bathroom, Satou-san."
Control visit. My sister wanted to know, if everything's alright. She sent us.
And I wasn't suprised at all that tiles in the bathroom were pink.
The end
