Chapter Text
"Hi Hunt, how are things going?", I asked the worker.
"Not so exciting", he replied.
"Man, things used to be a lot better when we were kids".
"You know we still kinda are?", I asked.
"No..well.. yeah, but I meant when we were all about playing around, going to the park, and getting excited over play dates". Hunt replied in a reminiscent tone.
"Hunt we're 16-"
"You're sixteen", he cut me off saying, "I'm seventeen going to eighteen in a couple of mo-"I cut him off saying, "Whatever. Stop whining about not being young anymore when we're not even in college".
He opened his mouth as if he was going to say something, "and get back to work you goon", I said before he could talk back.
Did I forget to mention that he has been my best friend since I started preschool?
"I'll text you tonight", I told him. "No you won't", he easily replied. Gosh, he knows me so well. I then told him loudly, "You never know when miracles happen".
"You said it, I didn't. And you also didn't buy anything", he informed me as if I didn't know. I laughed while heading to the exit. I replied saying "I ain't rich like you".
"If I was rich, would I be working here?"
"Well you are nerdy enough", I retorted while exiting the store.
