Work Text:

Zelda's legs felt numb.

They had probably feeling such a little wild ago but she had apparently must have not noticed or decided not to care at some point during the hour. She could neither decide or remember. At this point she her mind was drifting in and out of sleep though whatever she could muster as rest was barely satisfactory.

"Mhm…" A yawn caught in her throat as she deiced to stretch out her limbs in whatever way she could. The room in the sandstone pyramid glazed in a sturdy cobalt.

Same old view.

Same as it was the previous times she had woken.

How many times that had been by this point?

"You're up again."

It was a gruff voice that stated the obvious.

A familiar one but one she honestly quite wished she wasn't familiar with to begin with.

She wasn't even sure why he kept her alive.

"It's hard not too, my feet are all numb." The princess lamented softly as the blue boar demon stumbled over in view finally. A droning noise leaving him as he placed himself on the stone throne just right enough for his size with a pout. Frustrated clearly.

"Just kick them then, move you're toes a bit."

She took his advice, though after a minute of giving her extremities a good wiggle it almost seemed null and void.

Darn it!

"Still numb…" She complained lightly.

He groaned louder now. His tail flicking a bit. Clearly feeling a lot right now but trying to show a bit more maturity. Well more than his usual bouts of anger. No moblins to punish right now. Therefore no where productive to put it in.

His brow raised as he took in the sight of her now.

She looked so much like…

"I'm not letting you out Zelda." Ganon said. Firm. But not angered.

It certainly didn't surprise her. The first few days were full of her pleading and as she soon discovered, it was best to try and save her voice for other words.

"I'm not saying that. I understand you have your reasons just…" She did, she truly did, though she didn't quite understand the intention Zelda could understand anyone having reasons to do anything.

"I have my reasons to be sure dear, though I would be surprised if you understood fully." He lightly grumbled, head shifting into his hand on the armrest.

This…wasn't her.

This just happened to look a lot like her.

A whole lot like her.

"Though that's not a dig at you're intelligence you're highness, just an old boar thinking of someone."

Zelda was caught off guard by such an admission, the words almost seemed more human than she would have thought to come from him.

"Someone you liked?"

"Someone I held a lot of resect for, in simple terms."

That was barely cutting it, but it was the words he felt comfortable with in the moment.

Zelda had seemed to notice his ruminating in full now, an idea springing to mind though nothing heroic in the slightest bit.

"You haven't talked to anyone in a long time, have you?" She asked softly, patting down the fabric of her dress a bit as she noticed how unkempt it had become. Having to redo so as she jumped from particularity dark laugh he had let out at the words.

Humored in his own way clearly.

"You think? I suppose the lack of anyone intellectually inclined has made it a little rough for conversation, aye princess?" Having to hold back a rumbling belly laugh, well at least she had got him out of his grump stump. "Honestly dear, I haven't been in the most talkative company to begin with."

Though he was half tempted to blame Zelda for that.

His Zelda that is.

The one who had evaded him.

Then again they were left in each other's company as they awaited for the hero, for maybe far long than he would have wished.

"Do you miss…talking to people?"

Now that was a question,

One that had now made it's way into the more sensible part of his brain.

"Perhaps. Though I hardly see what it matters now, it won't matter when I rule over everything." He hummed. Tail flicking in happiness at the thought.

So close.

Yet so far.

Not like it was so many years ago.

People, what a concept.

"Well surely you have so much to ruminate on before you're triumph? All these years without people…it leaves one with very little input."

Now that made the demon king stop. His gaze returning to the crystal with his brow fully raised now, a bit of air getting blown through his nostrils in almost a mock bit of annoyance. Almost pissed off by the concept. Him? Needing input? For one of his plans? Outrageous to be sure.

Though… He got up with a sudden quickness that honestly surprised Zelda. His a gaze bearing into hers as he came fave to face with her, the world suddenly feeling oh so big to the princess of hyrule.

"You're offering assistance for what? To spare you're people?"

"To just talk to someone, I don't see the point of just ignoring each other until link arrives…it would also be nice to stretch my legs a bit." She admitted softly. Watching him stare at her for a moment before holding his hand just under the tip of the magical gem surrounding her. Honestly surprised when she felt the magical pull keeping her up disappear causing her to drop right into the beasts hands with a soft thud.

Though she had to admit, she wasn't expecting the softness. Zelda had expected coarse, rough fur but no. Reminded her of some of her blankets at home, was half tempted to nuzzle into all it. Though her fingers were silently taking in the feeling through small little kneads.

"Very well then princess. Let's talk."
