Baby Boom

Summary:

The Seven may all have kids somewhere

Notes:

As usual, had a random thought. Leaving it. May continue it. May disappear. May scream.

Work Text:

The corridors in Vought Tower were mostly quiet. Hardly anyone there at the moment. A-Train had been zipping through, meaning to head out again after coming from wherever-the-fuck he'd gone.

That's when he stumbled into the aquarium room.

Kevin, The Deep, was there, leaning against the edge of one of the tanks. But it wasn't anything like say, maybe an octopus 'friend', that made A-Train skid to a stop to double back.

It was the tank, what was near the edge where Deep leaned. Inside the tank, a squirming, giggling little nightmare of a toddler splashed happily. Human torso, chubby cheeks, a mess of dark hair plastered wet against his forehead. From the waist down? Eight fat, suckered tentacles, coiling and uncoiling in the water like they had a mind of their own. One tentacle waved at A-Train and the little one cooed, which made Deep turn around.

"The fuck is that?" A-Train blurted out.

Deep's eyes went wide. The kid, little tentacle freak, let out a delighted gurgle and shot a jet of water from one sucker right at A-Train's face as he walked closer. Bullseye.

"Uh...dude, this is..." Deep tried, nervously smiling then looking between the little one and A-Train.

A-Train wiped the water off his face, staring at the little hybrid abomination. The tentacles were playfully wrapping around Deep's arm now and ducked behind his bicep, contentedly cooing.

Is that- that's yours? What, did you knock up a squid?""

Deep's face went through about six shades of panic before settling on resigned defeat. He sighed, picking up the little one out of the water. "His name's Squishy. Well, technically Sebastian, but he likes Squishy. His mom... she's special. Her name's Ambrosius. She's um, a uh, Cecaelia. Met her out there, in-in the water. One thing led to another, you know how it is bro. And um, little bioluminescent foreplay, and boom. Little miracle here." He shrugged, a wet slap echoing as a tentacle high-fived his chest.

"Been uh, trying to keep him a secret." He set 'Squishy' into a large goldfish bowl, he cooed and wriggled inside, curling up with a toy lobster and nibbling the sushi bite Deep placed inside with him.

Secret not kept. Once the idea of potential kids of The Seven being out there was a thing, the search started. DNA matches or potential matches at all were looked for. Who knew?
