Work Text:

Sinner ran through the descending stairs carelessly, one step away from falling face on the bricks. Once he found ground, when he almost couldn't stop whiout falling, a smiling silly face appeared right in front of him. He frooze. Falling right under it almost touching.

It also had hands, making signs with them almost like a code. The sinner's Eyes darted through his wristwatch on 30 seconds and the thing in front of him. He remembered choosing the how misfortunate modifier, why was he surprised?

The music got close to finishing, getting faster and faster, the smile on its face widdened.

He slid under it and entered the saferoom right before the timer hit zero.

He panted, looking up at the previous room confused. Seeing a symbol in white that stayed behind.

He choose the blink modifier, crouched some times to be prepared, and opened the metal door again.

Sliding while it opened so fast he flew over a lot of rooms, a glitch like static appearing and vanishing quickly from his vision, the smiley face spawned under him.

Sinner saw the pink flower following him, and carefully fell right into a hiding spot. While he waited, the smiling face caught up to him.

While running and avoiding entities, the runner wasn't able to trimp again. Once he was about to get concentrated, a voice spoke behind him.

"Im right here~

He was about to look back but Dozer spawned in front of him. He bowed, and went back to running before he knew it, he couldn't waste any more time anyways.

Flash drain, oh, sky got red, stand under the doorframe, its alright, it couldn't-

"Can't get easier than that."

The rain got heavier.

"We can be great friends, you and I."

John just laughed, while running a little bit slower than usual.

Once he reached the saferoom, he opened the trapdoor and jumped in. Looked up and saw mime trying to get in before the door closed.

It scratched and thumped on the cold metal, the sky was definitely red up there. Was it its first time? This was supposed to be usual for him, John thought.

They were almost feeling bad for him.

He scoffed and just opened the vault door with the pressure plate. Falling a trimp because he forgot to use the rosary ring in the saferoom and barelly got any speed.

While they jumped on the tar, Mime spawned behind him again. Floating closer to him a bit desperate.

Its eyes burned with the lantern sinner carried but still couldn't bear ending up behind again. The sinner stoped and waited for carnation to pass by, and Mime aproached him.

It seemed a little conflicted on whether to stay close to them or give him espace. Sinner ignored it.

When they were on a hiding spot, he looked back at Mime for a moment, staring at his eyes that moved up and down on its face.

...Face?

Was it really a face?

Kinda looked like a smile, but was it really?

Mime noticed the way he stared at it, and his smile (?) widened a bit.

The smiling shape moved a bit closer and suddenly the moving dots actually looked like eyes. Staring back at john.

"Don't be shy, sinner"

Sinner's face grew red, as he noticed the world was also turning red. He's never seen that before.

He stepped back, looking around him in surprise, to see the figure of a humanoid goat jumping on him like a horror game jumpscare from behind.

He gripped the lantern tighter, and accidentally shot a beam of light on the monster. It disappeared, but they still could hear its screams.

Panting, he checked his wristwatch, it was broken. The smiley creature seemed uninterested in the event. Following them forced while the sinner ran and flashed goatman for his life.

When the monster attacked from behind, Sinner also flashed Mime who got knocked back. It returned offended at John. Staying strangely quiet the whole time.

When they finally reached the saferoom, Mime managed to enter it with him. It dint even realized it wasn't supposed to be there before noticing the way Sinner was staring at him.

They took the paper of how Mime worked from his pocket and stared at it, then at mime again for about 3 times.

The figure just stood there, raising his eyebrows and ponting at himself smiling silly.

After a moment, it lowered himself and sat on the ground like a sheet of paper leaning against the wall. 2 dimensional.

Sinner sat at the opposite side. Near the door.

He checked his watch again, his gaze flickering through his wrist and the smiling shape before his eyes like it would attack when he wasnt looking before focusing on the device.

The clock was fixed, frozen on 1:27 minutes remaining. Was it the time goatman attacked?

The timer indeed finished too quickly... Strange, it happened exactly when he tried to figure out if Mime was a floating smile or face.... Did the game glitched?

He looked in front of him again after a while whiout checking. Mime wasn't there. It was besides him. Floating right above the pressure plate that activated the speed run, checking sinner's watch too.

John jumped to the corner, startled. The figure seemed confused. It mumbled something that dint sound like a voice line quietly, then interrupted itself.

After a second, tried again, seemingly unused to hesitating.

"Wow! Just wanted to see the time too."

John felt a little comforted, the entity sounded so human. They didn't wanted to jump in its arms but.. looked like it wasn't necessary to keep the guard that high.

They slowly and awkwardly kindly showed his watch to the entity.

It examined the device, and surprisingly gently held the sinner's wrist close to himself. As it lied down on the air, he fixed the clock with his other hand.

Even if its hands were big, it had no problem fixing the small device. Sinner stared at him  while it stayed unnecessarily close.

He looked away embarrassed.

"Isnt there an easier way for me to just show you the clock..?"

"Nope!" Said the mime. "Besides, here, its fixed already!"

"Oh... thanks."

The entity let go of their hand and kicked his feet on the air as the human checked the clock.

It was working, for now, showing the timer dint start yet.

It.... had some green spores or particles floating with it, but, John sincerely couldn't care about it, he dint even felt it.

Sinner got up, crouched some 15 times cause of his ring, and decided it would be their last run here, then he would go to zen.

Once he stteped on the pressure plate, Mime dissappeared. But after 5 or 6 rooms the human ran, it appeared right in front of him.

John stopped running at the last second and gripped the wall right before colliding with the entity.

He took a step back, Mime seemed unbothered.

It smiled more playfully and gently booped their nose.

After a second the human fell on the ground lifeless. The entity's smile flickered and he couldn't look away as the ground and walls were painted with a vivid red coming from the bottom of his torso. Their legs gone.

It humorlessly laughed and forced itself to look away. Not ready yet to have to wait for them to come back.
