Chapter Text
Fool is nervously looking around. It and Mime are ignoring their duties in order to go bother another Sin. like, sure, the two have done this more than once already, but it still makes them anxious. What if they get in trouble? What if Genesis gets angry with them? What if this- What if that- so many what ifs. Not to mention if the Sin they are wanting to annoy desires company.
It glances over at the floating face. “Are you sure this will be fine?” Voice barely above a whisper, it sounds downright terrified. There is a difference between showing up without warning and scheduling a visit.
“Positive. Dozer will love to have us over unannounced!” Mime waves a hand in response. Ever since their first true interaction, they have seen Fool come out of their shell quite a bit. It pleases them to know that they have that effect on people.
Their large smile does nothing to calm its nerves. The binds land on the ground with a quiet crash as Fool lowers its arms. Mime is gonna get them both in trouble. “...I-” It starts, and gets cut off near immediately.
“If it gets angry, then say it was my idea. Because it was.” Resting a hand on its shoulder and pulling it close, Mime lifts the heavy weight at the end of the chains off the floor. Of course they can do that effortlessly, yet the Sin those entrap has no hopes of lifting those so easy.
Normally this would be the crushing weight of peer pressure. Litany would glare with hatred and judgement to coerce Fool into doing whatever it wants. Yet, somehow, with Mime, the chained Sin feels no such pressure. “... …Fine.” It sighs, looking away from its dear friend and partner.
Their smile widens. “That's the spirit!!” Flashing a thumbs up, the floating face has to remember to not physically drag Fool to their destination. Today is going to be a great day!
“Where are you two going? Ain't no sinners that way” A sudden voice cuts in. there is no one else around. no floating Sins at eye level, nothing on the ground. Nothing, except clinking of metal from above.
That's a Sin that isn't seen too often. Usually she is dedicated to the hunting of Sinners. good for her! Although, Mime cannot resist flirting with her. “Oh, Sundial, how I missed you and your many arms~” They make a grabby motion with their free hand, and a devious smirk is the only thing visible on their face.
All their actions do is serve to irritate the false sun. She writhes in the air, sunrays spinning wildly for a moment. “Now isn't the time for flirting, Mime. You two are needed over at-” As she points in a direction that the walls cover, Mime just waves her off.
“We are going to wake up Dozer, chill.” They comment, finally removing their hand from Fool, much to its chagrin. It really isn't a surprise that she doesn't buy their words, and instead turns to the chained Sin.
Huffing, she is impatient and not entirely believing the pantomime Sin. “Fool, what is the meaning of this?” Eyes narrowed, and the ends of her long sunrays tap on the wall as she descends like a spider on a web. Surely Fool wouldn't lie straight to her face as well, right?
Being put on the spot like this makes Fool freeze. Its ears are fully raised in surprise and its hands feel heavier. “I wanted to check in on Dozer. It hasn't shown up for a while and I was getting worried-” Somehow, it doesn't stutter, but it does lie. It doesn't want to reveal that the two of them were going to hang out with Dozer. Unfortunately, there was an eavesdropper in the conversation.
Green hands rip a tear into the air, revealing a dark void with a single, glowing eye on the other side. No one quite knows what Stem fully looks like, only that he for some reason gets an entire ass pocket dimension to live in. Talk about favoritism!
The eye within glints dangerously as it locks onto Fool. “That's a lie.” Simple, no-nonsense words. That is what Stem is all about. And today, he has sniffed out a lie. He represents lies, and yet hates them. A Sinner can only run so long from their lies before needing a breather, but there is no Sinners here. Just a handful of Sins shirking their duties. Although, he is no snitch, and he too enjoys the art of pissing off Genesis via ignoring Sinners.
Mime, however, is looking far too pleased with the turn of events. What started as two Sins became 3 became 4 Sins. “Feels like a sex party already, folks~” They moan, giving a wink in the general direction of both Stem and Sundial.
“Shut up!” Sundial hisses, getting ever more angry. The numbers in her eyes become red crosses, and she drops down dramatically. Alas, her sunrays cannot stab Mime, and so she slices the air where they linger.
On the contrary, Stem closes the tear and reappears closer to Fool. The friendly activities of the sun and mime make for suitable background noise as the two catch up.
Normally Fool would be worried about Mime, but after seeing that Sundial can't even scratch them, it calms down. “Hi Stem.” It sounds rather cheerful as it ignores the play fighting.
“Greetings, Fool.” Stem is polite, and he doesn't even look at the fighting. Daily occurrence, though usually Carnation and Seesay are the Sins starting the fights. He was going to say more, but a nasty look from the metal sun shuts him up for now.
“Why is everyone here?! There are Sinners to torment!!” Slamming every sunray onto the wall, Sundial glares at everyone else. The fight is over, it seems. Usually she isn't this riled up, so Fool wonders what has ticked her off today. Probably Kookoo. The two compete for time themed attacks.
Shuffling closer, Mime wiggles their eyebrows at her. “Don't worry your metal tentacles, Sundew, we'll be back fucking them soon~” They coo, getting as close as they can manage. She looks ready to give up. Fool doesn't blame her.
“I don't even know why I showed up here. You are clinically horny all the time.” Defeated, the sun tries to bash her face against the brick wall. All this really does is produce some loud clanging, and when she turns around to glare at Mime, the numbers in her eyes keep rapidly randomising.
“You love me, Sunnyshine~” Mime taunts, smile going wobbly with joy. She just snarls wordlessly at them. Perhaps this is a good outlet for her anger. At the very least, the unfrench clown is proving to be good at forcing her to unleash her hostile energy instead of bottling it up.
Fool and Stem watch what is happening. The other two seem to be having fun. “Is Mime always being a freak around you?” Stem asks, peering down at Fool with a curious gaze. He has an inkling of the truth, but still wants to hear the other's thoughts on the matter.
“No, they actually are pretty chill and respectful. But I am starting to think they just let out their arousal before meeting up with me.” The chained Sin quietly admits, shifting so it can see him better. It's a little embarrassing to talk about how horny Mime is, though it knows that they wouldn't even hesitate to answer this question if they heard.
The pattern around Stems's eye increases in size at its response. Peculiar, very peculiar. “That makes sense. Can you tell Dozer that it owes me 5 bricks?” Even without a visible face, it's obvious that he is smirking. The way his tone changes just slightly when mentioning Dozer is all the evidence needed.
“What? Why?” Tilting its head, it tries to think on why Dozer owes someone else. It thought that the proud glaggle wouldn't get into a situation like this. Then again, the reasoning on why could make all the difference.
A sigh. “We made a bet to see which one of us a Sinner would die to. The sinner bowed down, but didn't sprint.” The eye on the other side of the rift disappears, but is brought back a few moments later. Fool assumes this is Stem blinking.
“Oh- yeah, I can see that. I'll pass it along.” It nods, turning back to the other two Sins. The fight has died down now, and Sundial looks exhausted while Mime wears that stupid grin again. Sometimes Fool wishes that Mime would look at it like that.
Content, Stem's eye bobs, likely due to a nod or something similar. “Thanks. You're a good Sin. Don't let the others get you down.” Fool doesn't get a chance to respond, as the hands retreat into the hole and the air sews itself back together again. Never a proper goodbye from him.
Noticing the Sin of Lying is now gone, the metal sun startles. Red numbers flash in her eyes as she huffs. “Listen, as fun as you trying to seduce me is, I got other plans. Hurry up and get Dozer.” With that, Sundial retreats into the air, and uses her elongated sunrays to scuttle over the wall. Fool decides to not think about how she looks like a spider.
Now it is just the two of them again. It is silent. no other Sins can be seen, or heard. Even Genesis above stares without a sound. They always watch. That's fine. If Genesis didn't like the incarnations of Sin intermingling like this, He would have stopped it long before now.
