“Hey sponge.”
Rui finally comes home after his 15 hour shift of directing for WXS. The purple-haired man swiftly walks overs to his partner and drops himself onto the couch.
“Hi, love. Long day?”
“Mhm.” Rui groans in response from exhaustion.
Something about Rui groaning made SpongeBob feel this spikey, hot sensation. Hearing Rui groaning made SpongeBobs holes expand.
“Hm, I’ll go make dinner now. Ramune flavored ramen!”
Seeing Rui getting his energy drained out everday is something SpongeBob cannot bear to see. To make Rui feel better, SpongeBob makes his favorite food, to get some angry back into Rui.
The yellow sponge squabbles into the kitchen, preparing the ingredients to make the food.
The worn-out man lying on the couch silently watches his partner moves, swift and gentle movements, putting enough care into the food they’re making.
Seeing his precious sponge trying their best everyday to make the purple-haired man happy makes Rui feel so grateful and emotional for his sweet, yellow sponge partner.
What have I done to deserve this? , Rui thinks to himself, feeling a little disappointed in himself for not being the best partner to his sponge.
Everday, Rui comes home burned-out and becomes lazy, and in return, SpongeBob prepares his favorite meals and takes care of him with love.
Realizing this, the four months him and SpongeBob have been dating, Rui hasn’t tried to put effort into their relationship at all. At this point, Rui is fixing upon their relationship and what he can do to become a better partner.
Should I take him out? Maybe dine at a seafood restaurant? No, that’s not right. A trip to the beach? Nah, he’ll explode from absorbing too much water. A date to the fair! Sponge’ll love it!
And there, Rui came to a result on what to do to Mae Sponge feels the same way Rui feels when sponge does generous things for Rui.
“Hey, sponge?” Rui says aloud, breaking the peaceful silence around them.
SpongeBob stops in his tracks and makes eye contact with Rui, curious on what he’s about to say.
Those gentle, expressive, compassionate, eyes Rui fell in love with at first sight.
“Yes, Rui?”
SpongeBobs voice came out in a gentle and curious tone. His voice sounded like a sunflower shining in the spotlight of the sun.
“It’s been awhile since we’ve gone on a date, hasn’t it?”
SpongeBobs cheeks rose into a soft tint of cherry red. Hearing the word ‘date’ made SpongeBob tense up, remembering their first date, what a gentlemen Rui was for him.
“Mhm! W-what are you saying?” SpongeBobs voice cracking up mid sentence from being nervous.
“Let’s go on one! To the fair!”
Rui’s came out so casual and warm-hearted. It made SpongeBob feel more flustered.
“A-ah! Okay. Y-yeah, I’d like that!” SpongeBobs voice sounded so poorly enthusiastic and covered in embarrassment , it made Rui chuckle.
A date settled!
