Chapter 1: one

Chapter Text

Triangle Man looked outside.

Its really funny that he’s the only one that has a house. Out of all of the people in this…place, he’s the only one. Usually he doesn’t care about this difference, but he couldn’t help but notice.

He touched his face again. The sides of his body were just fine, but he was sure they weren’t before. He remembered the places where he got stabbed. He remembered the places where he got eaten. He remembered falling off an otter.

But he didn’t remember how he got back home.

There was no way he would be alive, it’s just…impossible. It felt so weird, being able to move normally after going through, what some would say, the worst.

Was it just a dream?

It couldn’t have been a dream! If it was, how could he explain how his shades got broken?

Maybe he accidentally dropped them while he was sleeping. It’s a bad habit. He could never stay still on his bed. His sister always teased him about it.

His sister…

Triangle Lady…

“Hi!”

Suddenly, he noticed the figure outside his window. Funnily enough, it was Triangle Lady, same as always. He couldn’t tell that she fell down a few thousand feet, either. She still had her usual, unsettling smile.

“How’s it going?”

“Uh…”

He didn’t know what to say. ‘How am I still here after all of that happened?’. No, he’s not even sure whether that was real or not. ‘Hey, did you dream about falling off an otter as well?’. What was he thinking?

“I’m fine. I-I had a weird dream today.”

“Mmm. Anyways, I brought you some food!”

She shook around a small basket excitingly, strode towards the window and passed it to him. For a second he was just happy. He was a bit hungry, after all.

But then he remembered. He stared at his intact body again, with no signs of teeth. He lost his appetite.

“Uh, hello? Triangle Man?”

“Oh, I’m sorry, but I’m not hungry. Besides, I…need to practice, uh…juggling. Juggling with a full stomach makes me sluggish.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I…sorry.”

She looked a bit disappointed, but then she smiled again.

“Alright then! See you later!”

And then she left.

Triangle Man sighed. Well, what he said wasn’t a lie, at least not all of it. Juggling is hard when he’s in a food coma. Honestly, anything is hard when he’s in a food coma.

Especially when he has thoughts of his own sister ripping him apart like a wild dog.

What’s going on with him? Was he finally mental? Was that dream(at least, what he hopes is a dream) getting the best of him?

He heard a knock on the door.

His heart skipped a beat. At first, he really didn’t want to go and check the door. He just wanted to be alone. He wanted to think about things for a bit. Or, better, he wanted to think about nothing at all.

There was another knock.

Triangle Man hesitated. Who even is that? What do they want? He thought about him getting stabbed again. It felt horrible. Terrifying. Just…straight up awful.

A third knock.

Well, he had no choice. As much as he didn’t want to open the door, he wanted the knocking to stop. It was getting to his nerves.

He walked slowly towards the other side of the room, and opened the door.

There was nobody.

He was disappointed. Not that he was expecting anything good, but he just wasn’t in a mood for pranks.

Just as he went to close the door, he noticed something in front of his doorstep.

It was the basket.
