No one knew that Sonic was deaf, well hard of hearing to be more exact. It was something only tails knew,(and maybe Eggman, Knuckles and Amy. But that's it), it was something that Sonic kept under lock and key, he had even worse hearing when he was younger but somehow it got better which Sonic has no clue on how. Even though there were times where his hearing was bad, Sonic had used his earring aid when he wasn't out for the day. Sonic sometimes wished he wasn't hard of hearing, sometimes he didn’t.
Today was one of those days where his hearing was a little more worse but not bad where he needed his hearing aid. He was fighting Dr. Eggman badniks like any other day when one got a little too close to his ear when he spun dase into it. The sound of the boom was so loud that it took Sonic a sec to realize that he really couldn't hear anything.
Shit Sonic thought as he made his way to fight Eggman. Sonic was fought without good hearing so it wouldn't be too hard. So before long he did the first spin dase to Eggman machine, Sonic gave a smirk, while in his head thinking what he was going to say and in what tone. “Let fintist this so I can go eat a chill Dog,” he joked while Eggman glared at him. Eggman yell at him which the only reason Sonic knew what he said was because one, he can read Eggman lips and two Sonic can readlip a little but not a lot.
After a bit of fighting and Eggman yelling how he will get to Sonic soon, the doctor flies away in his Egg flying modia. Tails came flying by Sonic then, from what Sonic picked up on, Tails asked him if he was ok. Thinking for one section off, Sonic replies “Oh yeah, i’m fine there nothing Eggman can throw at me can take me out”. Tails asked if he was sure because he saw that Sonic was more quiet than normal. Sonic, knowing that Tail was smart and knew him to know what was a lie and what wasn't, let out a breather. Fine, you win. My hearing went out Sonic sign to Tails with a smile. Tails, now seeing that Sonic was telling him what happened, signed back. Oh, i see. Well at least back home you have your hearing aids. Sonic laugh, Yeah, anyway since we are on about home. Let's go rest buddy Sonic sign with an upbeat movement. Tails nodded and then the two rushed home.
