Daring Charming: a beast story

Summary:

Nobody likes to talk about Daring Charming.
Even though at the start of last year everyone liked to talk about him! His winning smile, his handsome face, his athletic body, his excellence in every single one of the heroic classes, his… Well, you get the idea.

There was always something that the people wanted to talk about.

But the conversations had changed recently. Instead of people talking about his looks or the things he did that week in hero training, they were talking about what his destiny would be, of what he would become.

With the disaster made by the Evil Queen and the sudden winter of Crystal’s father, it became a confirmed suspicion that the destiny of the prince wasn't the perfect illusion everyone thought it was.

He isn't the prince of the Snow White story.

Some think that he probably will be the next beast.

Or:

After discovering that he is the prince of Rosabella’s story, Daring wonders about his destiny.
He has questions that no one wants to answer, and the people want answers that he can't give them.

Notes:

This is just a little tease of the story I'm trying to write! I hope you enjoy it.

I don't really know anything about the storys on the books, so I'm mostly trying to write this with the information we have in the movies and web series.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The land of Ever After, with its large forests, reflective blue lakes and stunning views is a place where many fairytale and mystical creatures live in harmony with the hope of a brighter future. People say it's a place where all your fantasies can come true. A truly magical land.

In the heart of this world you can find Ever After High, a school built to house and educate future fairytale characters that are in the wait of their destiny. Doesn't matter which side you are on, be it good or bad, royal or rebel, if you are part of a fairytale then you have the right to go to EAH.

At least that's what it’s supposed to be like, but fear can be dangerous.

The most known example of this is Raven Queen, daughter of the Evil Queen. A darling girl that had the misfortune of having a tyrant for a mother and inheriting her magic powers.

Poor Raven had been mistreated throughout her stay in the school, being feared and stereotyped because of her heritage. Even if many people didn't think she was truly evil, they didn't want to be put in the spot by the royals for supporting her. The whole thing in legacy day didn't help either.

Thankfully everything changed with the defeat of her mother, after which the students led by Raven, Apple White, and the rest of the student's council made the general compromise of not discriminating against people based on their destiny. It shouldn't matter if you are to become a villain, a hero, a princess, a knight or any kind of magical creature in your story, what matters is the person you are today. Because nobody should be left out because of a future that they might not even want to pursue.

But there’s a special case that no one likes to talk about, something unexpected that happened before summer break, an exception that many have for this social rule.

And that is Daring Charming. Firstborn son of King Charming, failed prince of Apple White.

And the possible future Beast.
