Winter Wonderland

Summary:

“You already made it clear how you feel and now it’s like you just don’t want me to move on. Is that what you want?”

“And just how do you think I feel?”

“I’m not gonna stick around where I’m not wanted, so I’m trying to step back but it’s like you won’t let me.”

“Is that what you think? I don’t want you?”

The gang goes to a cabin in the snow for winter break and mariejordan decided to get all their gay dramatic feelings out at that very moment.

Notes:

Saw it was mariejordan week and quickly threw something together, I’ve had this idea for a minute actually so why not contribute. Hope you enjoy. Sorry I’m late !

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“I swear if you even think about getting back with them I will rip your fucking tits off.” Emma smacked Marie’s shoulder as she flinched away from her.

Marie stepped back to keep Emma's assault from continuing. They were currently standing in the aisle in a run down gas station as they made their way to a cabin on top of a stupid mountain, while Marie was left wondering if it was worth freezing her ass off for.

“Where did this even come from?” She made sure to match Emma’s whisper-yelling. If the others were close by grabbing snacks they wouldn’t hear them.

“They magically wanted you to sit in the front seat on the way here, and you guys are getting closer by the day.”

“We’re just friends Emma.” Marie stalled by picking up a bag of chips, acting like they piqued her interest before Emma smacked them out her hands.

“Don’t fuck with me, we’re supposed to be moving past the old and heading towards the new, but you can’t seem to keep it in your pants the moment the option arises.”

“I HAVE kept it in my pants thank you very much even when they tried to kiss me the other day.” Marie quickly covered her mouth as Emma’s eyes grew to saucers.

“I am going to SKIN you-” Both of their heads snapped down the aisle as Annabeth popped up and started walking towards them.

“Bethie!” Marie met the girl in the middle quickly trying to escape Emma’s ire. “Let’s find you something, yeah? I’ll pay.”

“Jordan said they’ve got me covered.”

“Yeah Marie, leave them to it.” Emma butt in speaking through her teeth.

“That’s okay, it's on me.” She looped her arm through Annabeth’s and pulled her back out the aisle as the younger girl rolled her eyes.

By the time they hit the register the group was piling the snacks on the counter, Sam reaching over Jordan’s shoulder to drop a few of his own. Before any of them could say anything, Jordan had spoken over them to ring it all up, handing their card over.

“Wow how so very chivalrous of you. What’s got you in a good mood?” Emma teased as they all grabbed the items off the counter and trailed towards the door.

“Trying to sway the love of their life after dumping her.” Sam said under his breath which earned him a smack to the back of the head from Jordan.

“Be nice.” Cate cut her eyes at them before heading out the door.

They all piled back in the car, Marie in the front seat with Jordan at the wheel, it was only a few seconds before Emma squeezed in and sat in her lap. Marie let out a heavy breath as Emma plopped down with no regard.

“Are you gonna shift any time soon?” She shifted her legs as the shorter girl dug through her bag, eventually pulling out a tiny pair of clothes.

When Sam complained he was tired of sitting on the floor Emma had offered the trunk which broke them all out into an argument until Emma made the choice to do everyone a favor.

Which now led to Emma getting small in Marie’s lap and Marie for over the 40th time seeing more of her best friend than she bargained for as usual.

Marie helped her out of the giant clothes and put them on the floor next to her feet while Emma put her tiny clothes on.

When she was done getting dressed Marie picked her up and put her in the cup holder where she already had a tiny blanket and pillow ready.

As she watched Emma get comfortable she could feel their eyes on her. She tried to ignore it most of the time seeing as it had been a common occurrence. She wasn’t trying to but she had been more distant than not these days.

She couldn’t take how often they spent time just looking at her since the break up. She’d accidentally caught their eye one too many times to the point where she has now resorted to acting like it’s not happening.

She had meant to tell Emma, she really did but Jordan did in fact pop up wasted at a party the group went to, Marie was a bit buzzed and allowed their company as she walked them home.

She’d never seen them like that, they always bragged about their airtight tolerance to anything anyone could throw their way. So when they stumbled down the hallway to their dorm as she walked with them, helping keep them on their feet half the time, she found some humor in how unserious the situation was.

By the time they got to the door they sat down next to it as she took the keys from them and opened it, demanding they go inside and sleep it off. When they got up they took another moment to look at her, then leaned in for a hug which took her by surprise.

She patted them on the back and as they leaned out they pressed a kiss to the side of her cheek, far too close to her mouth. They stayed in her space for a second before they leaned in and she stepped back. They stumbled forward a bit before catching themself and laughing softly.

They mumbled something she couldn’t quite understand and turned around into the room. She stood in the door and watched them plop themself onto the bed. She left that night and nothing came of it after. She figured they hadn’t remembered so she didn’t bother bringing it up.

It would remain that way if she had anything to say about it, but it immediately felt as if one small gesture had restarted her process of getting over them, and now she was doing everything in her power to pull herself together before she came tumbling down.

So if she had to be distant, then she would.

She was trying to pull away from them, they weren’t an idiot they knew the girl. They knew something went wrong when a couple weeks ago after the party she kept avoiding direct eye contact or being alone with them.

She would damn near flinch any time their skin accidentally brushed against hers, any time they locked eyes, any time she noticed it was just them in the room.

They hated seeing her like this, but they knew trying to be with her again would only make her feel trapped, inevitably leading to her running away. But it seemed no matter what they did she’d run away anyway.

Things had been hard, especially after the war when they were back at school left to sit and rehash everything that happened leading up to finally taking vought down.

All they wanted to do was take her into their arms any time she walked around looking like she was suffocating in her own skin. They tried to talk to her but they knew she was giving them half answers, doing everything to not let them in.

It was driving them mad.

They didn’t just miss the physical closeness but being able to be there when she was falling apart. But they didn’t have the right to feel this way when they let her go, and they knew it.

It still didn’t stop the overwhelming need to take care of her, or be around her, or try to do everything in their power to keep her from slipping away.

Now here they were pulling up to the cabin and it seemed like she couldn’t get out of the car fast enough.

Away from the group. Away from them.

They watched her and Cate walk to the door, legs high as they trailed through the high snow. The door opened and they walked in as the rest of them waited in the car for the opportunity to bolt through the cold weather and straight to the warmth of the house.

By the time they got inside Jordan and Sam had finished bringing the bags from the car and everyone was taking articles of winter clothes off, and leaving them by the door.

Cate cranked on the fireplace and everyone sat on the couch, looking at her expectantly. Jordan sat down and looked up to see Marie eyeing the only seat left which happened to be next to them.

She opted to stand instead and it took everything in Jordan not to let out a loud sigh. They were giving their all to give her her space but there was something clearly wrong and it was driving them up the wall.

Cate had told them there were three rooms and they’d have to split between the six of them, so two to each room. Just as some of the group started complaining she reminded them the living room would drop in temperature and it is almost impossible to keep warm at night, so whoever had a problem was welcome to fight that battle and sleep on the couch.

Cate and Sam already agreed on sharing a room together, Sam earlier telling Cate that he’s fine with taking the floor with anybody essentially.

Emma immediately claimed Marie and Marie nodded until the group looked at Jordan and Annabeth being left, she immediately retracted her response.

“You and Jordan could share.” Marie suggested.

“Maybe if they agreed to sleep on the floor.”

“I drove all the way here. I'm not sleeping on the damn floor.” Jordan shook their head at Emma.

“Okay well-”

Marie was immediately cut off by Jordan speaking again “I’m not sharing a bed with her either, she has no concept of personal space.”

“Okay well who will you share a bed with asshole!” Cate sighed as the group made this harder than it needed to be.

The room went quiet as everybody turned to Marie.

“Hell NO! Marie, Annabeth, and I will share the same bed. It's final.” Emma spoke up before anybody else could.

“Hey whole bed to myself I’m not complaining.” Jordan shrugged.

Annabeth cut in just then pushing Emma’s arm off her shoulder “I saw those beds, the three of us are absolutely not sharing. Having to share a bed with Emma alone is already going to be a lot.”

“I’ll take the couch fuck it.” Marie rubbed her temples, just wanting the conversation to be over with.

“You’d rather sleep in this cold ass living room than sleep in the same bed as me Moreau? That hurts.” Jordan looked at her and she still refused to look back at them.

“I don’t care anymore, can we just order something to eat? I've got a headache.” Marie walked off to use the restroom as the group stayed on the couch.

“So I guess it’s settled, Emma and Annabeth, me and Marie, Cate and Sam.” Jordan noted.

Emma squinted at them “I just find it a little convenient you made this as difficult as possible to get exactly what you wanted.”

“No idea what you’re talking about.”

Before Emma could say anything further Jordan had gotten up and grabbed Marie’s bag plus their own, making sure to smile at her as they walked past.

She was going to kill them by the end of this trip.

They were entirely too close. She couldn’t even sleep. It was like the heat radiating off them was keeping her awake.

After they fell asleep she attempted to make a pillow fort between them to keep things from getting uncomfortable, and yet of course they’d found a way to shift around them.

They were currently facing her breathing softly, hair fluffy and falling into their eyes. She turned around to keep herself from staring at them.

The universe was playing some stupid joke on her. They’d been broken up for months now and it seemed like any time she tried to distance herself this sick fucked up world would throw them right back in her crossfire.

Marie was always familiar with the feeling of being unwanted, it’s something she’s dealt with her entire life. So when they let her go, she truly realized she had let herself get too comfortable. Let them in, let them allow her to feel, to actually believe and it was a mistake.

Everything was too intense, too confusing, too much. She could barely stand looking at them let alone touching them. She couldn’t be with them alone without feeling like her heart was gonna sink to her stomach.

So now here she laid, unable to sleep cause their heart was beating a little too loud in her ear, them laying this close to her feeling too much like home.

She was lost in thought when Jordan shifted closer to her, hand sliding to her side of the bed and making itself comfortable on her stomach.

She nearly flew out her skin and climbed out of bed. She took a deep breath and left the room, grabbing a blanket off the dresser and a pillow from the bed before heading to the living room.

She was gone.

They didn’t know why they expected otherwise, they’d once again probably pushed it too far. Yes they were being an asshole and making it difficult but in reality they wanted to be close to her, every effort they made seemed to push the girl further away.

They couldn’t take it anymore. They wouldn’t live a life where they didn’t get to be in her world, it was the reason they quickly course corrected them to being friends to see if that was the space she needed.

But even that didn’t work and now they felt like they were being driven to insanity trying to find a way to not lose her.

Maybe they were destined to, maybe they weren’t meant to be in each other’s lives.

“Bullshit.” They whispered out loud and got up in hopes of finding her. They looked over at the clock, it read three am.

They checked the living room first knowing they’d find her there. When they got there there was only a blanket and pillow on the couch, but they looked to the right and the kitchen light was on.

When they walked in she was sitting on the counter, sporting a long t-shirt with some grinch pj pants and fuzzy socks. She had yogurt in her hands as she looked up at Jordan taking another bite.

“Snacking in the middle of the night? Really?”

She smiled down at the cup in her hands, not meeting their eyes as usual. “Guess dinner didn’t really do it for me, just wanted something extra.”

They leaned against the fridge across from her and just watched her. She looked tired but still gorgeous. That was a given.

“I see you’re camping out in the living room.” They poked.

“It was hot in the room, turns out the couch is comfortable anyway.”

“Bullshit you complained all the way here cause it was too cold.”

“I’ll live.” She shrugged taking another bite.

“Marie, come back to the room.” They decided to get to the point.

“I’m okay out here.”

“Marie-”

“Why are you doing this?” She finally looked up at them.

“What are you talking about?”

Marie scoffed and looked back down at her spoon, clearly on the verge of shutting down. Jordan shook their head and stepped closer, taking the cup and the spoon from her hand and putting it on the counter.

She immediately crossed her arms, they noted she was trying to make herself as small as possible and their heart broke.

“There has never been a time since the moment I met you that I don’t want you.”

“Bullshit!” Marie exclaimed softly to make sure she didn’t wake anyone in the house. “I know the feeling Jordan, I'm not an idiot. We were done a millennia before we broke up and now we’re both sitting here lying to ourselves like it was over when you said it, and not weeks before.”

Jordan looked on in shock, opening and closing their mouth not able to form words.

“I’ve never felt wanted before, and I did for just a little bit. I let myself be delusional. But as usual one wrong step and everything went to shit, so by the time I left I just didn’t care. I wanted you all safe and I’d do anything to get it.”

“Marie.”

“I couldn’t take the silence anymore. I knew I was the problem. So I let go too.” She hopped off the counter, landing right in front of them. They made no effort to move and they were face to face. As she tried to sidestep them they moved with her putting an arm on the counter.

“Jordan, I don't wanna do this tonight.”

“Luke was the most powerful.” Marie’s eyes snapped up to them. Their breathing was steady, determination all over their face. “Everyday they would tell him he’d be the greatest supe that graduated from Godolkin.”

“They ran him to an early grave and I did nothing to stop it and in real time it was happening all over again. Some old fuck in your face, hell bent on blowing compliments up your ass about how you’re gonna change the world for his benefit.”

“The way he talked about you, like you were a tool, a weapon, a means to an end, I panicked. I knew it was happening all over again and even when I tried to stop it I knew I’d have no place. When he took my body, and he almost made me-” Jordan sighed. “When you overpowered me, I was caught in the middle of a battle between two people who bested me in one sitting, and there would be nothing I could do to protect you even if I wanted to.”

“So I got scared, and I tried to run away.” Jordan’s hands lifted and gently took her face in between them. “It didn’t work, it never would. Because when I see you it’s like someone ripped my heart out my chest and gave it to you, and every time you run my stomach churns, and it always feels like the last time I’ll ever see you.”

“I consider you to be one of my favorite people, maybe ever and I don’t think I can handle you wanting nothing to do with me.” Marie took a deep breath and nodded. “We don’t have to talk about it all right now, I just need you to know that me not wanting you was never even a thought that has ever crossed my mind.”

They looked down and saw her hands stiff by her side. She was stiff and unmoving between them and the counter, and in that moment they knew why. It was like everything clicked in place.

She was afraid she was gonna hurt them.

She practically flinched away from every touch, was doing everything she could to get away from them these past months. Any time they’d been too close she’d nearly jump away like they were on fire and she’d just been burned.

“Touch me.” They said quietly.

Marie froze and her eyes widened. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“Touch me Moreau.” They insisted once again. “I don’t break easily.”

Her hands slowly reached up and landed on their shoulders. She was still cautious, hands gently coming down to rest on their chest.

“I want you, I’ve always wanted you.” Their eyes locked for a few seconds before Marie leaned forward pulling them down to her by their neck. They immediately wrapped their arms around her.

They fell into a comfortable rhythm like the time they spent apart affected nothing. They still knew her and she still knew them.

Their hands flew to her legs, lifting her and putting her back on the counter, running their hands up her thighs as hers found their hair.

They gently parted her lips with their tongue, taking their time to explore her mouth for the first time in months. She moved closer to them and they could feel her nipples hardened through her shirt against their chest.

They both paused and pulled apart, freezing as Annabeth, half asleep walked through the kitchen. The younger girl grabbed her water bottle off the table and trailed back off to her room seeming to not even notice them.

Jordan’s head fell forward onto her shoulder as they laughed. Before she could say anything they were sliding her off the counter and onto their hips. She barely had time to wrap her legs around them before they started walking back towards the room.

They’d both stripped by the time they hit the bed. Jordan sat up and looked her over, months apart had been entirely too long for their liking, but now things felt different.

It felt like they’d both finally get the chance to put everything on the line and be on the same page for once since they met.

Marie began to move her arms in front of herself when she noticed they were just kneeling above her watching. They reached down and moved her arms to her sides, watching her nipples further harden in the warm air.

“I really hate when you do that.” She laughed softly.

“There’s no way you think you don’t warrant a few stares with the way you look.”

“Maybe I want you to stop staring and do something about it.” Jordan was thrown off by how blunt she was before they recovered and shifted to their smaller form.

As they leaned down Marie flipped them and straddled them. They ran their hands up her sides, fingers lightly attaching to her nipples before pinching, making Marie flinch away. Sensitive as always they thought.

She kissed them and their hands moved back down to her waist, she felt them pulling her up and she looked down at them.

She had clear confusion on her face as they rolled their eyes. “Do I have to spell it out for you? Get up here.”

She squinted immediately. “We haven’t been together for months and you want me to-”

“Yes.” They cut her off. “Is that illegal now or what?” They sat there for a moment, a silent battle, Marie as usual giving some pushback before literally anything. Exactly why they loved her.

Love. Yes love. They loved her. They were in love with her. They couldn’t believe they left room for doubt.

They tugged hard and she shifted upwards. “Now or never Marie, everyone isn’t gonna be asleep forever. I know it doesn’t take you long but still.”

She smacked them on the shoulder before scooting up so they could tuck their arms under her, holding onto her legs. She held onto the headboard as Jordan pulled her down to them. She sucked in a deep breath as they immediately latched to her clit.

She let out a soft sigh trying to keep quiet, they were an asshole for saying it but nonetheless it wouldn’t take her long and she could feel it.

Something about being with Jordan was different. Like they knew every button to press and she never had to tell them how to do so.

She’d tried with other people and it was okay, but things were always different when you were attached to the person emotionally. She couldn’t explain it.

She didn’t have to because the difference was always going to be apparent as her skin was currently on fire from Jordan leaving open mouthed kisses on the most sensitive part of her body.

She let her breath fall in and out, covering her mouth at points when Jordan took it upon themself to flutter their tongue, making her hips buck against them.

Jordan looked up from under her and watched as Marie’s mouth fell open with a silent moan. They noticed she was keeping herself quiet. For obvious reasons that they didn’t care for at this very moment.

They’d take care of that later.

They picked up the pace knowing she was close, her hips now out of her control. They tightened their arms as she grew frantic to keep her in place.

Her hands came down to pull at their hair as her back arched and she sucked in air as her orgasm hit her.

They held on as she froze up, body beginning to fold over only stopped by her hands on the headboard. When she finally settled down Jordan kept at it making Marie giggle and try to pull off them.

“Knock it off Jordan!” She whispered, pulling her leg free and falling next to them.

“Too sensitive to keep going?” Jordan looked over smiling. Marie smirked back at them and sat up, she threw her leg over Jordan’s hips and sat down.

Jordan took that as their cue and switched to their male form. They were hard against her leg. She reached down and wrapped her hand around them. As she ran her finger over the tip their abs contracted and they hummed, watching her.

She ran the tip through her folds as Jordan put their arms behind their head. She let it pass her clit a few times, gently cause she was still sensitive.

She then lined them up and slowly sank down on them. Jordan’s head flew backwards, it had been entirely too long since they’d felt her wrapped around them and they swore they’d never go without it again.

She sat there for a moment, eyes finding theirs as her hips began to rock. They maintained eye contact as she found a steady rhythm. Their eyes trailed down her body.

They slipped in and out of her as she leaned forward, putting her hands on their chest, and riding in earnest.

They looked her over again and she had her eyes closed now, still keeping herself quiet. They couldn’t stand it.

They put their hands on her hips pulling her down harder as she grinded on them. She let out a small sound then went back to being quiet.

This just wouldn’t do.

They sat up, wrapping their arms around her and snapping their hips up as they pulled her down. She wrapped her own arms around their neck, kissing their shoulder and panting next to their ear.

They gave it their all as she reached up and pulled their hair. They could hear her whining softly, their name amongst the mumbling, still not loud enough for them.

“I must be off my game.” They groaned as she squeezed tight around them. They kept up with her hips coming down, mostly taking over as she was lost in pleasure.

They hit that soft spot inside her and she bit down on their shoulder trying to keep herself together. They made a point to move their shoulder down, which took away her ability to hide a small moan she let go.

She immediately brought her hand up, biting down on her knuckle and they held her tighter. “I wanna hear you.”

“Jordan.” She reprimanded them.

“Please.”

“We can’t and you know it.” She said quickly before letting out another puff of air. They leaned back and pulled her into a sloppy kiss before pulling her up off her lap. She whined as they pulled out of her.

They flipped them over and then turned her around so her back was to them, her head laying on the pillow. They rose to their knees, dragging her hips up with them. They slowly slid back in then settled all the way in her with a snap of their hips.

“You have a pillow now, no excuse.” Before she could get a word out they began a brutal pace that almost made her legs buckle. She gripped the pillow hard letting out small moans as they roughly worked to bring her to her climax.

Their hands ran up her back and settled on her shoulders holding them down, making her arch further. The angle was heavenly for the both of them. She thought she was about to see stars with their relentless determination.

“You’re so pretty like this, all mine.” Her legs turned to jello, the pleasure all too much. They gave out under her and Jordan took no time immediately following her down. They attached themself to her back, wrapped an arm under her as they kept it up.

She was mumbling still, completely drunk off of them. They looked up and saw her hands with a death grip on the pillow as her face from the side was contorted, trying to hold it together.

They watched as she turned her face down into the pillow and her moans got louder. She hugged the pillow to her face in an attempt to keep it down.

Jordan knew she was close, they quickly rose back up to their knees and pulled her hips back up, feeling themself also close to cumming soon.

“Fuck it.” They said out loud and reached down to wrap their fingers in her hair, pulling it and making her arch deeper. They used her locs to pull her back onto them harder, to make them reach further inside her and she finally let go of a pornagraphic moan that nearly made Jordan’s eyes roll to the back of their head.

She began to flutter around Jordan, she was about to cum, and they were about to do the same right along with her. They had mercy on her and let her hair go, she immediately fell into the pillow as her orgasm shot up her spine, making her scream right into it.

With a vice lock around them, liquid began to come dripping out of her. They went faster, knowing exactly what was happening. As they kept it up she panted as more squirted towards them. Jordan saw white and immediately their abdomen tightened and they let go.

They kept a slow pace as she dripped still, their thighs were wet and so were the sheets as they pulled in and out of her until she whined and they stopped.

They gently put her down on the sheets and fell back on the bed next to her. She turned her face towards them, laying still. Still trying to catch her breath.

When she finally settled she smacked them on the chest which caused them to flinch.

“Ow! Why?!”

“You know why asshole.”

They smiled at the ceiling hoping to God everybody just happened to be sleeping pretty hard at the moment, otherwise they’d definitely never hear the end of it.

She’d just finished eating breakfast after getting dressed. Jordan was across the table not even bothering to keep their eyes off her as they poured some orange juice for Annabeth.

The young girl was essentially in her own world so they chalked it up to she hadn’t seen them last night. Annabeth was always dead to the world when she slept. It was no shocker to Marie her little sister happened to wander into the kitchen and then back to bed.

Marie’s eyes snapped up as Emma came marching out the room with all her winter gear already on, boots included.

“We need the keys Jordan. We gotta stop by somewhere.”

“We?” Jordan asked, pointing towards the rack by the door where the keys hung.

“Yeah Marie and I need to head to the store, we'll be back shortly.” Emma patted her on the back a little too hard as she passed by. “Right now!”

Marie rolled her eyes and headed to the door to put her boots on. Jordan watched as they went outside, through the window Emma seemed to be yelling at Marie.

Just as they were about to get up they saw Emma lunge at Marie, both of them falling into the snow. Marie wasn’t fighting that hard, if she wanted Emma off of her she would be.

They struggled on the ground for some time before Emma ended up on top of her. Jordan laughed as Emma gathered some snow and held it above Marie’s head.

They seemed to be talking about something that Jordan couldn’t quite make out. Marie said something that was obviously not the right answer which earned her a face full of snow, Marie yelled loud which drew her sister’s attention.

They wrestled in the snow for a bit longer before Marie managed to get free, standing up and holding her hands up in surrender.

Emma walked up and poked her finger into her chest, then pointed at the window. She looked over, shocked to find Jordan looking back. She flipped them off before getting in the car which made them let out a soft laugh.

A laugh that was quickly cut off by Marie’s death glare through the window. She adjusted her jacket before walking around the car and getting in.

They would get an earful later, worth it.
