Chapter Text
The Brown Dog
It was Johnny's first night off after returning with Kellie and Jason's family from the island. Once he ordered whiskey at the bar, he found a table off in the corner.
He'd almost finished his drink when he saw Elizabeth walk in and head for the bar. Not in the mood for company, he tried to hide in the shadows of the corner, with no luck.
"Are you really not even going to say hello," Liz said, sliding a whiskey to Johnny and then sitting in the chair across from him.
"I'm not in the mood for company, Lizzie," Johnny said.
"Neither am I," Liz said, drinking her margarita, "But if I'm with you then maybe everyone else in the bar will leave me alone."
Johnny considered Liz's answer for a moment as he picked up his drink. He raised his glass to indicate she could stay before taking a drink. Liz let her shoulders down in relief before taking her drink and chugging back half of it.
"Maybe you should slow down, Lizzie," Johnny said.
"I'm so sick of men telling me what to do," Liz replied angrily and then tossed back the rest of the drink.
"Apologies," Johnny replied before taking another drink, "Do you want to talk about it?"
"God no," Liz said, "All Finn wanted to do was talk. The nerve of him to call Sarah of all people."
"He did what?" Johnny asked.
"Called Sarah behind my back," Liz said.
"He's an idiot," Johnny said.
"That is an excellent way to put it," Liz said.
At that moment, Finn entered the bar, scanning for Liz. He noticed her and Johnny and made his way over to the table.
"Elizabeth," Finn said.
"Go away," Liz said.
"Just come with me and we'll sort this out," Finn said.
"Sort this out to your satisfaction you mean," Liz said, standing up to Finn, "You contacted my sister that I don't speak to. You had no right."
"When you have been having blackouts and refused to continue treatment at Shadybrook," Finn said, "I had to do something."
"It wasn't your call to make," Liz said, "Not to mention bringing up my personal business for anybody to hear."
"All the more reason we should talk somewhere privately," Finn said, grabbing Elizabeth, causing Johnny to stand up to intervene.
Liz shoved Finn and then slapped him.
"Don't touch me and don't come near me," Liz said as Johnny moved between Liz and Finn.
"Oh come on," Finn said, "Tell Kellie Corinthos's lackey here he can stand down."
"Johnny and I are friends," Liz said, "Which is more than I can say about you after you betrayed my trust like that."
"He's definitely an idiot," Johnny said, "Now l believe Elizabeth made it quite clear she would like you to leave."
"I'll be in touch when you're sober," Finn said, storming off.
"Don't bother," Liz yelled after him.
Liz picked up her empty drink.
"Well that's no good," Liz said, "I'll be right back."
Liz ran over to the bar. When she came back she had a bottle of vodka, and two empty shot glasses.
"Lizzie, I'll stick to my whiskey," Johnny said.
"Johnny, please don't let me do shots alone," Liz begged, pouring two shots, "Unless you want to discuss why you were sitting at The Brown Dog drinking alone when I showed up."
"Lizzie," Johnny shook his head as Liz picked up a shot class and held it out to him.
"I just want to have fun," Liz pleaded.
Johnny groaned, considered he might regret it, and took the shot glass from Liz.
"Just one shot, Lizzie," Johnny said, throwing back the shot.
