The night haunted Pencil. Breath hitched at every gust of wind, a distant chime amid the hollow.
Four’s screams still followed her; an unwelcome shadow breathing on her neck. In short, Pencil couldn’t sleep. She hadn’t been able to in weeks. Since the incident. Since she last saw him. Since everything faded to black, and her world had shattered before her very eyes.
Until.. she started coming by. One. The starry eyed witch Pencil couldn’t help but be enthralled with.
One was like a siren. She’d watch over Pencil like the Moon reigned over the still night, her touch gentle and soothing. she’d run her fingers through Pencil’s long locks, gently combing them, whilst the latter’s head was resting on her chest, eyes blissfully closed.
The witch loved Pencil; passionately. The kind of love that you can’t help but get tangled in, tied forever to your beloved.
Meanwhile, Pencil adored One. Wholeheartedly, worship-esque. The blonde took One in her arms like she had always belonged there, refusing to let go of the only cure she had, refusing to let go of her.
Nightfall bled into daylight, and One disappeared along with the moonlight that lulled Pencil into slumber. The blonde’s eyes, still filled with fatigue, glanced at the empty space beside her. “She left” Pencil conceded, but the scent of One’s floral perfume still lingered; strong enough to be proof of her visit, but faded to signify her unfortunate departure..
It was early. Pencil’s head met her pillow once more, eyes still heavy as the morning sun streamed in.
“i love you” she whispered: more to herself than to One. Perhaps she knew the witch was watching, smiling brightly to herself, a faint blush dusting her cheeks.
Pencil no longer feared the dark, the night, the shadows that threatened her very existence. She found solace in the arms of a sly trickster with a hidden heart of gold and piercing blue eyes. The blonde found peace, even if it seemed temporary.
Alas, night shall come again, the two lovers would meet , stars spectating their unfolding love story.
