Work Text:
Adam felt Chris’s lips pressed against his own before he registered Chris had even moved in close. “Mmm…” he hummed against the kiss, and Chris pulled away. “That one wasn’t my fault,” he said, a bit nonplussed.
“Sorry,” Chris said sheepishly. “I just figured…that was easier than, like, saying it, y’know.”
“Than saying what?” Adam asked, heart pounding, not daring to hope.
“Easier than saying I freaked the fuck out because I wanted you to kiss me,” Chris said with a shy smile. Adam felt an answering smile curl his own lips.
“Yeah? And how did you like it?”
Chris put on a studious expression. “Not sure. I think I need to try it again to figure it out.”
“By all means,” Adam said with a laugh. He curled his hand around Chris’s neck as they kissed again.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s good. We’re good,” Chris said after the kiss, his hands tangled in Adam’s hair.
“Are you sure?” Adam asked with a grin. “Tell me what you really think,” he teased.
Chris wrapped an arm around his shoulders and hauled him in close. He was smiling.
“Fireworks.”
