You have died
Well this is certainly news to me can’t remember what it was that killed me but I guess the random text appears in front of you in the void telling you that you died it's true otherwise how did I get here. I just go along with it pretty much, you will live in again in a new world as something quite MARVELous.
Ohh my God I’m gonna be in a new MARVEL universe I wonder what powers I get to have. Then it says selecting most compatible hero template available which bit of a bummer but let’s see what it gives me before I start bitching, ‘SELECTED’ and it shows me the Human Torch. Then I look myself for the first time and realize I didn’t have a physical body but now I do when being presented a mirror I see I look like a young Johnny Storm and damn I see where he gets his confidence from if this guy looks like this it’s no wonder he became such a Casanova. Look a little further down and okay not a bad piece of equipment I’m working with, I then get back on track and I think about my power set it pretty nice all things considered fly, set myself on fire, immune to fire damage of all kind except probably magical fire, massive control over flames and my heat, and casually go supernova in a large area and so long as I don’t get too crazy with it I won’t destroy the earth or New York.
Then I see Another text and says karma value perks awarding, I like it first thing it says Conduit enforcement ‘infamous series’s’ allows for enhancement of overall abilities increasing my overall abilities giving me a healing factor similar to people like Cole Macgrath and Delson Rowe and should I absorb fire nearby I can speed it up, following it up with that it increases my overall damage output and increases my physical attacks nice I do wanna be able to get up close and personal every now and again, increased my reflexes and perception further than it was, and I can imbue a melee weapons with my powers maybe even do a few other things with my already considerable powers.
Second thing it gives me is ‘Marvelous Intelligence’ my head feels fuzzy for a second and I don’t feel that different initially, knowledge of how to create unstable molecules and how to create anything related to them and my head feels funny for a second there but I manage just fine as my iq is raised to a level of a genius and wow well I know what all my clothes are going to be made out of now. Actually I only need one suit and just program it to transform its appearance as I would get rid of any bacteria just by flaming on. Although seems kinda redundant given the fact Reed will be making the suits in the future so this stuff is not necessary but I won’t question it right now. Furthermore I discover this perk will allow me to create some of the best shit in the Marvel universe I just need to put in the work for it which honestly that’s great but what good is this shit if other people will be able to do it. I accept this gift I have been given but I still wish I was given another power, maybe I can hack into places and disarm some bombs but other than that and putting me up there with some of the smartest people in the universe I just don’t see this taking me as far as one would hope.
Third thing it gives me is ‘Not that easy, Fates Favor’ this one is probably the biggest leg up I’m gonna get out of the rolls however, it tells me I am immune to mind control, ‘resist’ reality warping abilities depending on on how they affect me (It doesn’t explain what that means or its parameters), as well as leaving me able to survive beams of instant death or disassembling at the atomic level (This is amazing but hopefully I never have to use it). I can also damage people who are normally unaffected by normal means. Yet erasure of my existence is rendered impossible which I am just going to be grateful I know the snap is random but I wanna make it naturally, this part will only be needed once, and it’s says I’m blind spot for psychic’s that see the future, again could come in handy with what I’ll meet out there in the Marvel Universe. I do wonder how often I will need this one it’s good but honestly the amount of people I will meet that could just wipe me away killing me, erasing me, or just control me is not much world is a big place I shouldn’t run into these things that often after all world full of superheroes surely someone else will deal with a good portion of these guys half the time. Then a P.S. comes up saying ‘You are going to need this ability to survive it doesn’t make you indestructible or immortal it just means certain people will have to finish you off the hard way. When you meet HIM…. this ability will allow you to hurt him in a way few can but you will die if you screw around… Also you will have no memory of having this ability when awakening.’
“Well if I can’t remember this ability how am I gonna be able to use it when I fight Thanos I guess I’m just gonna piece together this last one…. Is there a reason I won’t remember this though?”
I receive no answer.
Then after the longest period of silence to the point it seems like something is wrong. Something pops up new ‘prepare for awakening at your origin, your powers will not be like everyone else's’ it tells me and I’m just like well only three other people get powers from a cosmic storm in space so yeah everyone’s different and has their own origin story some people get it in science experiments gone wrong, born mutants, and some people get bit by a special spider. Then before I go one last message read gives me some background info that get told that I get it from my dad’s science experimenting with a machine in his lab turning me into the human torch of the universe when I’m 6 years old. I get confused for a second wait why it doesn’t it mention rest of the Fantastic Four why am six when this happens and then a new message appears saying ‘Good luck you’ll need it.’
Okay this new guy gets sent off to a new reality he is definitely gonna be a heavy hitter but considering where he’s going he needs all the help he can get. The stuff I gave him will make his life easier to start with but he’s still gonna have his work cut out for him after all he does not know he’s not going to the Marvel universe. He will certainly bring attention to himself as he is essentially cape who is a walking star with powers that don’t come from a shard, God once he makes his debut on the scene it will just be one thing after another. Shards will most certainly push for conflict with him both to find out his capabilities and experiment with him, Brockton Bay will not be prepared for that shit storm once he reveals his whole hand so long as he doesn’t go supernova off the bat he should be fine and things will not escalate out of control and this guy might just save the world and more importantly entertain me.
“Hey ROB I read this guy’s file and I think you missed something it’s kind of important in his file.”
“Bro I appreciate you helping me set out for my first big reincarnation but trust me the guy will do jus……”
I look at the section my fellow ROB points to… and if I had a full stomach now I would be exchanging it for pants full of shit.
Heck as I look at this guys file he will be even less prepared as it says here he has never read Worm, Ward, or any fanfiction related to the Parahuman’s universe. I think about what I used his karma points to get him. One karma reward makes him more durable and able to heal that being Conduit Enforcement, and Fates Favor will make him the bane of certain thinker’s out there but for the most part that’s just to keep him unnoticed while also making sure stilling and other such attacks won't kill him immediately… considering he doesn't know shit he's gonna need it. Marvelous intelligence will certainly be giving more than he expected, this boy better be using these brains I gave him.
I think to myself ROB you did a good job gave him everything he needs to be a success his powers won’t shackle him to some kind of trauma he’s gonna be fine. However I think to myself how big of a wrench someone who doesn't know the plot of this story can throw. Now I just wanna see how he effects things.
“Bro he doesn't know shit, I can't do anything but why not enjoy the show.”
He looks at me like I lost my mind, but he doesn't understand I didn't get the ROB gig by playing it safe.
“Look next time we get the gang together this will at least be entertaining regardless how it turns out. I mean if he doesn't know anything who knows what kind of decisions he will make think of how fun it will be to watch and what kind of drama he creates.”
“I do kind of wanna see how this plays out.”
“Plus this is the first time I’m incorporating my built in reality program.”
“What is that?”
“Basically what it does is alter the world in subtle or even major ways to give reason for his powers existence basically it's like taking a tree from somewhere else and not only planting it in a new environment but also making way for more fun deviations. So while history is largely the same further his story goes the more we discover about the changes the world has gone through because of his existence.”
