Happy New Years

Summary:

Jr and Minnie bring in the New Years togther.

Aged up characters:
Junior is 16 and Minnie is 15 in this.

Notes:

I oringally started a one shot of them doing Christmas but in true me fashion I started that like 3 days before actually Christmas and it was getting long so Imma just work on it for the next 12 months and post it next Christmas. 😅

Also yes this Minnie and Jr are from my still on going story. (this is New Years 2024 going into 2025 for future readers)

I like their story I made for them alot and I'm still working on the next chapter of their current story, but I thought this be a cute little one shot short story to end the year. Anyway, Happy New Years!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It wasn't often that our castle was busy, but New Years was the one time of the year that dad would have us host a party.

Typically dad and mom would be busy hosting that me and Minnie's only jobs was to be seen by them at some point during the party so that they knew we weren't causing trouble or hiding in our rooms the entire time, but otherwise we were free to do what we wanted.

I had been present for most of the beginning, but it got boring after the alcohol started to hit the adults, not all the adults were completely wasted yet. Dad held back from drinking because he didn't care for it as much, but every time I saw mom she had a new glass in her hand.

I decided to dip, but would come back for the count down.

It was halfway to my room when I was passing a balcony window and a flash of silver caught my attention. Turning my head I saw Minnie outside leaning against the railing, looking out at the cliffs that surrounded our castle. I decided to check on her, and walked over to the door.

The door opening caught Minnie's attention as she turned her head to see me walking out.

She was in a silver and black dress, it was a knee length silver dress that had black rose lace over the skirt and the corset style top half was still silver with black laces, it had off the shoulder bell sleeves that were black. She had on silver platform Mary Jane's so she came to my shoulders in height. Her hair was down but she had a black headband on with a silver rose attached to the left side. And her skull choker that dad had made for her to have a human appearance again instead of her ragdoll form.

Her and mom liked to dress up for the events we held while dad just asked that I wear a button up at most.

I was in a simple black button up I threw on over a pair of my jeans that had chains on them. I hadn't really thought of my jeans choice earlier since I hadn't been thinking about the party till dad came to tell me it was starting and I had to switch my hoodie out of a button up.

“Hey, why are you out here?”

“Our parents' dear friends have participated in the indulgence of alcohol and I wasn't having fun around so many that now smelled like our mother's drink cart. It felt like the scent followed anywhere one went, so thy came out here for fresh air.”

“Yeah, a few of them have definitely gone a bit too heavy.”

“Why is dear brother out here?”

“It had gotten boring for me. Figured I'd dip and come back when the countdown started.”

Minnie hummed an agreement as she turned back to the view. Our castle doesn't offer much in views, the castle sits on a giant skull head which sits on a giant rocky terrain. The courtyard is more interesting with the greenery and garden there, but past the castle walls it's just rocks really. While there is a front gate there not really a path to it, most people come and go via a portal that dad has to allow to be opened.

I walked up next to her and leaned against the railing and looked out at the vast nothingness and cliffs trying to figure out what had caught her attention. Glancing at her from the corner of my vision I saw she was mostly zoned out it seemed so she wasn't really staring at anything. She was leaning against the rail also with her arm propped up to support her head as she leaned against her hand with the most uninterested expression. I had a feeling the party had also bored her.

“You look pretty.”

A moment of silence passed as Minnie suddenly stood up a bit straighter as she turned her head towards me as a blush dusted her cheeks, “Oh, thank you. Brother looks a bit more proper.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know I look the same. I'm only in this shirt because dad said I couldn't stay in my hoodie.”

“Loungewear is more appropriate around family then party guests.”

“Minnie, it's the same people dad and mom invite every year. I doubt they truly would care if I wore a hoodie or not. Also I don't wear loungewear, it's normal clothes, most of my shirts are just hoodies by default.”

“I'm very aware of brothers hoodie collection. Laundry day involves the staff washing a mountain of hoodies from you.”

I sighed as I turned my head to hide the brush from her teasing. I was still in my skeleton form so blushing wasn't as noticeable on my skeleton but Minnie was also really good at reading me at this point.

“Ignoring that jab at my own wardrobe. You do look really pretty tonight though.”

Minnie was suppressing a giggle but she at least had a smile on her face, “Thank you.”

“After the countdown, want to go raid the kitchen for any snacks?”

“That sounds like it would be more effort then just asking.”

“Yeah, but with the kitchen staff busy with the party it will be more fun.”

She seemed to think for a moment before, “Mmm alright. But brother is the scapegoat if we are caught.”

“Alright, I can accept that. Just means we can't get caught now.”

“And how does thy plan that?”

I gave a smirk as my right eye glowed green and my empty left side started to glow as well.

Minnie shook her head with a smile as we both started to hear the chiming bells that the count down was starting. Through the still cracked opened door we heard people from the party start the countdown at ten.

“Oh, looks like the countdown is starting, we should probably head back.”

I turned to head towards the door but Minnie caught me by the sleeve of my shirt. I looked back to see her eyes covered by her bangs as her face was aimed down now pike she was shy about something.

In the background I vaguely heard the countdown get to four as Minnie stepped towards me.
I heard two as Minnie pulled me closer and pulled my head down towards hers.

The castle bells chimed and fireworks set off as Minnie's lips found my mouth as the cheering hit one, in the same second I slipped my human face over and my lips were pressed firmly against Minnie's as I cradle the side of her face with my hand as my other hand found her waist and her hands were still gripping the front of my shirt.

As we pulled away I could see the blush on Minnie's face and I could feel my face be warm now as well. I stared at her as I could see the fireworks still being set off shine in her eyes.

“Happy New Year's Junior.”

“Happy New Years Minnie.”

Notes:

One shots aren't really my thing but I thought it be cute, sorry if it was terrible. I tried.

Thank you for reading though!
