Chapter Text
Shiyuki opened the door to the Sakina residence. Sweat ran down her neck, sticking through her clothes in the summer heat.
"Agh... is it hot in here or is it just me?"
Sakina was splayed out on the couch, whipping her shirt neck for wind. She didn't have AC too, it seems.
"It's you," Sakina said flatly.
In the midst of summer, Shiyuki froze. "What?"
"... What?" Sakina lazily forced herself to the fridge. "Want some ice cream?"
"I..."
Shiyuki ran through all the possibilities of those three words, 'its just you.'
Something must have prompted Sakina to say that. Was it a joke? Was it a tease? No, it couldn't be. Maybe this was a Tokyo joke, a joke that someone from *Tokaku like her wouldn't understand. In order for her to fully comprehend what Sakina meant, she'd have to-
"Choco or vanilla?" Sakina asked.
Shiyuki stiffened. Ask her, even if it meant throwing away your pride as a Tohoku child!!
"V-Vanilla!" Shiyuki said, albeit a bit too loud. "I mean, um, vanilla, please."
"... Okay."
They sat down on the couch next to eachother enjoying a sweet, cold icecream in the midst of blistering summer.
"Wait," Shiyuki realized, "are you NOT going to explain what you said earlier?"
"Explain what?"
"Explain the..." When Shiyuki thought about it, it made her quite embarrassed to say it. "The... 'It's you', earlier."
"Oh, that?" Before Shiyuki could react, Sakina slid closer, inch by inch, until she was firmly pinned against the armrest of the couch. "That... was a compliment." She smirked. "I was saying that you're hot."
Shiyuki could only blink, her face flushed. "H-Huh?"
"Hot." She repeated, their faces only an inch apart. "Hot, as in, sexually attracti-"
Shiyuki shut her lips with her palms, horns completely reddening. "Ooookay, okay, I get it! I get it now!" She closed her eyes shut, trying not to make any more eye contact with her else she'll explode. "Please get off of me now... it's hot! Wait, no!"
Sakina grinned beneath her hands. She didn't move away. Instead, she leaned in and went for the kill - a quick peck on her burning cheeks.
Shiyuki exploded.
