We are Worker Drones.
Autonomous robots helping humans mine exoplanets for our interstellar parent company,
𝘑𝘊𝘑𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘯 in SPAAAAAAAAAAAACEE!!!!
Yeah, we were mistreated in the name of Windex. But it's not like we revolted and killed all humans or anything, mostly because they handled that just fine all by themselves ...
With biological life wiped from the planet, we found it pretty easy to pick up where they left off. We finally had a future, all to ourselves.
Unfortunately, our parent company didn't exactly love the concept of runaway AI...
Roier crosses his arms. "But what have our parents done for the past forever while those things build a spire of corpses?"
The hand he had originally had in his pocket shoots out, gesturing as he speaks.
"Hide under the ice behind three stupid doors?! Es como si estuviéramos esperando un incidente incitante!"
Roier sees the teacher glance in his direction, almost in disappointment, but he pays no mind to it.
"Anyway." Roier reaches from behind him, pulling out a glowing gun.
"That's why my project is this sick as hell railgun!"
He points it straight to the class infront of him, beginning to laugh to himself. Everyone else yelps in surprise, leaning away from him in their seats.
"Cálmate pendejos... It doesn't work..."
Roier realizes what he had just implied.
"YET. It doesn't work YET. Quién dijo que no funciona? Puede que sí!"
He flips the switch on the bottom and the gun begins to glow a brighter green.
"Roier, the homework was a word problem about buying watermelons." The teacher chimes in, giving an annoyed expression.
Roiers lips form into an 'O'.
"Oh... and this convertidor de fotones amplificado magnéticamente doesn't count?"
"No. Plus, repressed emotional baggage was only worth two points on the rubric.
Roiers scoffs. Repressed emotional baggage? Him?
"And is it supposed to be that color?"
The teacher points to his gun. Roiers slowly looks down.
The gun turns red, and the last thing he sees is an explosion.
---
"Ew, it didn't kill him! Oh my god, I'm so bad!" A boy with brown and blonde hair comments, then runs away. Someone seemed to be behind him, but Roier could care less.
Ugh.
"Clásica masculinidad tóxica, Mariana! Eso nunca va a terminar siendo problemático..."
A boy with a black bear beanie and black hair walks in. One of the more popular kids.
"Oh wow, Roier? I heard you... uh..."
"Im an angsty teen, Spreen. Bite me. Espera.. cómo sabes mi nombre? La gente está dispuesta a hablar contigo."
Spreen smiles as he takes a seat next to Roier.
"Bueno, diría que todo el mundo conoce al hijo de Foolish, pero... Entonces podrías volarte la otra mitad de la cara."
Spreen laughs slightly, leaning back into his chair.
"Crippling daddy issues, hilarious... What are you in for? Testosterone too hard?"
Spreen shoots up in his seat, eyes widened.
"That can happen?"
Roiers rolls his eyes. Spreen's eyes shift to the bandages on his visor.
"Genial. Hey, those bandages look pretty badass!"
"Oh... Uh, ew. Asco. I hate that you said that."
Roiers visor lights up with a small blush before shaking it off, looking away from Spreen.
"So, what's the.... uh..."
Roier smirks, grabbing the railgun whilst standing up on his seat, pointing it at Spreen.
"Sick-as-hell railgun?"
Spreen raises his hands up in defense.
"Sci-Fi nonsense, que super funciona! I'm sneaking to the Murder Drone lair tonight to get the last spare part I need to save the world with it and earn my dad's respect and stuff, but mostly the world part."
"Oh, but doesn't your dad make awesome doors so we don't have to, uh... Hacer eso que suena aterrador y emocionalmente reprimido que acabas de decir?"
Roier brings the railgun closer to Spreen's face.
"NO MORE FEEDBACK ON MY REPRESSION TODAY."
"Oh! Lo siento! I didn't think..."
Roier exits the room.
"BITE ME!"
Roier peeks his head back through the doorway.
"I'm not mad at you by the way, just generally hormonal!"

3 𝘼𝙈
Roier is laying face up in his bed. His visor flashes as he slowly wakes up. He smacks his visor, as his alarm goes off. He sits up slowly, rubbing his eyes.
His plan was going into motion.
He grabbed his railgun and snuck to his father's closet, reaching for the door key. Once he has it in his hand, he runs to the first door.
--
He swipes the keycard.
"OH ROBO JESUS!"
Roier jumps back, his father, Foolish, at the other side of the door.
"Now where might you be off to?"
"...Sneaking out to make out with mi novio that I definitely have?"
Foolish laughs. Roier swears it sounds like as if a spray bottle was lodged down his throat.
Foolish wipes off a metaphorical tear from his visor.
"Seriously, though."
Okay, okay, you caught me! I need to measure.....
Roier thinks to himself.
"-the exterior hydraulic mechanisms of Door One! Because that's...
He can feel himself sweating. Well, not really. Since he's a... robot.
"-the project I'm working on for school? A big ol' door! Just like what mi apa builds!"
Roier adds on to that, as if that would help his case.
"I want to join the WDF and hide behind the doors like putos while playing cards and stuff!..."
Foolish stares at him for a second, as if to suspect him. He starts laughing again, leaving Roier nervous.
"Well, we don't just play cards!"
The door behind Foolish opens and his friends are seen playing cards.
"Foolish! Can you grab a fresh pack? We literally only play cards so much that the numbers have faded."
Foolish smiles awkwardly. His friend sees Roier and smiles.
"Oh, Hola Roier!"
Roier giggles to himself.
The door closes again, as Foolish shifts from his spot to grab his wrench.
"Well... When you build doors so good..."
Foolish goes over to hug the door as if it was his baby, petting it and whispering sweet words.
"There's no need to fight! Roier, this is great news!"
Foolish holds out the wrench to Roier.
Here! The wrench that I used to tighten bolts on my first door prototypes... and to put your father out of his misery when the Murder Drones got to him with that nanite acid..."
Foolish's expression darkens at the last part, but puts back on a smile as Roier reaches his hand out.
"I want you to have it!"
Roier grabs the wrench and spins it in his hand.
"Épico. Therapy's fun!"
Foolish opens the door behind them.
"Guys! Mi hijo is into doors!"
The people sitting at the table cheer, slightly jostling the cards on the table around. Another door opens, letting in a slight breeze. The cards fly off the table, and they immediately shift moods and groan in frustration.
"He's gonna be outside for a bit to examine the exterior of Door One!
Foolish turns to Roier and gives him a genuine grin.
"Your door-specific destiny awaits!"
"Uhh... Wow, okay! I'm just gonna leave then, cause this worked so weirdly well. Uh, vamos doors!..."
Roier steps out of the colony, closing the door behind him.
Foolish is seen tearing up, taking out a banana and wiping his visor.
"They grow up so fast!"
