It was around 7pm on a Sunday when Kunikida met Dazai. The sun was beginning the set and the summer air was cooling down after the sweltering hot heat in the middle of the day. Kunikida saw a boy who looked to be about his age if not younger, smoking in an alley. He couldn’t help but intervene.
“You know its a misdemeanor to smoke underage in public spaces” Kunikida said, standing awkwardly in front of the wall, refusing to lean back against the alley wall to avoid dirtying his clothing. Dazai tilted his head and burst out laughing.
“Wow…you seriously dont know who i am…oh this is great!” He said, still in a fit of laughter. He stepped in front of Kunikida pressing him against the brick wall of the alley.
“I’ve done much worse than a misdemeanor…now i suggest you leave, unless you really want to care for someone like me” He said, holding his almost finished cigarette threateningly close to Kunikida’s neck.
“Even if you’ve done worse…you’re my age…you seriously should take better care of yourself, you look like you’re on the brink of death…” Kunikida said. Dazai laughed slightly.
“Is that so?” He pressed his Cigarette to Kunikida’s neck and burst out laughing when he yelped and covered the now blistering spot on his neck. Kunikida had small tears in the corners of his eyes but did his best to keep himself together and remain as dignified as he could in this situation.
“Violence isn’t the solution just because you’re annoyed with someone you know?, and i seriously mean it, health is important…no matter how much of a pain you may be…” Kunikda says the last part sounding slightly annoyed.
“You know what…i like you!, you’re funny…why don't you meet me here tomorrow ok?” Dazai said, with a glint in his eyes that sent a shiver down Kunikida’s spine. Kunikida swallows the spit that was pooling in his mouth and hesitantly nodded. When Dazai backed up he practically shot out of the area. When he got home he put medication on the burn and wrapped it in bandages. He decided to research criminals area, and his heart dropped when he realized who he had accidentally caught the eye of.
